"Sources further claimed that the investigation is primarily focused on financial matters and suspected transactions involving the two players," the report stated. Why did PCB punish Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq?Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are two of the most senior players in the Pakistan setup, but the PCB took a bold call by sending them home even when the team was trailing by nil-2. Imam, meanwhile, was axed for allegedly faking a calf injury, so he didn’t come out to bat in any innings of the Lord’s Test, which Pakistan lost by 194 runs. That said, the opener apparently has a history of faking injuries, as former chief selector Mohammad Wasim said. Rizwan, on the other hand, was reportedly reprimanded on disciplinary grounds, with words mentioning his spats with the team manager and security manager in England. However, the PCB never revealed the real reason behind their axing, but there were speculations about match-fixing involving Imam and Rizwan.
