They faced scrutiny during the ongoing England tour, and midway through the series, the PCB sacked the two players, alongside five other squad members, over disciplinary and performance issues.A few days ago, it was reported that the PCB has confiscated their phones, and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) is conducting forensic and technical analysis of the mobile phones of the two cricketers.Match-fixing is one of the angles the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency is looking at as their bank details before and after the England tour are being examined.If any suspicious transaction is found, the forensic team will examine the source of funds, and the two players could face severe consequences.Rizwan, Imam set to face lengthy ban if allegations are proven trueReports have been circulating that if allegations against Imam and Rizwan are proven true, the pair could face a lengthy ban from domestic and international cricket, as the PCB is taking the matter seriously.Both players have already been axed from the Pakistan team, with Rizwan reportedly out due to poor form and disciplinary issues. The keeper-batter failed to deliver the goods on the England tour, and in the two matches that he played, the right-handed batter scored just 61 runs.On the other hand, Imam suffered a calf injury during Day 1 of the Lord’s Test match, and despite his team being in a tricky position, the batter didn’t come out to bat.Imam’s decision not to bat when Pakistan desperately needed him raised serious questions. However, on Day 4, Imam was seen on the sidelines testing his leg and practicing light batting movements.
