The Pakistan cricketer, who was also removed from the squad after the 2nd Test, has now finally sent his response to the summon.Rizwan’s reply was on the negative side, where he has denied cooperating with the crime agency, further obstructing their investigation process. The cricketer was summoned alongside Imam-ul-Haq, however, he hasn't been physically present in front of the department after the initial meeting.Mohammad Rizwan denies to appear in front of NCCIAAs per a report from Geo News, a Pakistani media outlet, Rizwan has deliberately obstructed the investigation process that might involve alleged match-fixing scenarios during Pakistan’s tour of England. As per a source acquainted with the response of Rizwan, the cricketer has sent his reply via a courier to the NCCIA without appearing in front of them physically.“In that response, Rizwan himself asked multiple questions to NCCIA instead of responding to them. He asked the reason why he was summoned by NCCIA in the first place and why his phone is still being confiscated by the department,” the source shared. Also Read- Mohammad Rizwan Issues 1st Statement Amid Cybercrime InvestigationRizwan counter questions NCCIAMohammad Rizwan has also inquired in that letter whether he was called because of a disciplinary action breach and, if so, what is the particular breach or misconduct.“Rizwan also asked that he should be informed which discipline he breached for what he has been summoned and the reason behind the summon. The NCCIA have further again summoned some players for inquiry, including Rizwan, but he has denied cooperating and has rejected his visit to NCCIA, asking them counter questions,” the source reported. The PCB reportedly took custody of the players' mobile phones and handed them over to authorities for forensic examination on September 10, and since then, no official report on the investigation has been reverted back by the board as of now.Can PCB take action on Rizwan for not cooperating? The Pakistan Cricket Board can potentially take disciplinary action against Mohammad Rizwan if his refusal to cooperate with the ongoing investigation is found to violate the board’s regulations or his contractual obligations as a centrally contracted player. If the investigation is being treated as an official matter involving the national team, the PCB could seek an explanation from the wicketkeeper-batter over his decision not to appear before the agency.A failure to comply with directions connected to an active investigation could potentially lead to a formal show-cause notice, giving Rizwan an opportunity to explain his position.Depending on the findings and the applicable code of conduct, the PCB could then consider disciplinary measures, which may include a financial penalty, suspension or other contractual action. However, the board has not officially announced any disciplinary proceedings against Mohammad Rizwan over his latest response. Also Read- List of All Delhi Capitals Head Coaches In IPL
