Things have gone from bad to worse for Naseem Shah in this PSL. The right-arm seamer suffered a scary injury in the field, which might possibly rule him out of action for a long time.

On Thursday, April 23, Islamabad United locked horns against Pindiz. Naseem Shah, playing for the Pindiz, put a diving effort in the field, that actually injured his knee.

Naseem Shah Potentially Out Of PSL

The incident occured on the 4th ball of the 16th over, when Naseem Shah put a dive to stop a four off S Masood's bowling. Notably, Naseem Shah was in pain and moved over the boundary cushion holding his knee.

The right-arm seamer failed to back on his feet and the players were worried about his fitness. Eventually, the officials called for stretchers, but the 23-year-old limped off the field with the help of his teammates.

Naseem's situation doesn't look promising and the Pindiz too have posted an official update on Naseem Shah's injury.

Naseem Shah Having A Controversial PSL 2026

Naseem Shah is not having the best of PSL 2026. The right-arm seamer has played just three innings in PSL,  picking up two wickets. He has been constantly in and out of the team, hampering his career.

Further, he also landed in hot waters for his controversial tweet. Naseem Shah was fined PKR 20 million (approx. USD 72,000) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in March 2026 for a controversial, now-deleted tweet from his account questioning Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s high-profile presence at a PSL match.

Will Pindiz Miss Naseem Shah In PSL 2026?

Pindiz have got off to the worst ever start in PSL history. Notably, the Mohammad Rizwan-led side are placed 8th on the table with 0 wins in 8 matches. Therefore, the team is already out of qualification race and the Pindiz will not at all miss Naseem Shah in PSL 2026.

It is true though that the team might be on their way of the first win of the tournament as, talking about the ongoing match, Pindiz require 100 runs to win with 9 wickets in hand. They need to chase the total in 15 overs, which should be an easy chase.
