Pakistan Cricket is in one of its darkest periods as far as the men's national cricket team is concerned. After getting knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2026, the Mohsin Naqvi-led Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already started to reprimand the players.
After getting eliminated after the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, the PCB has reportedly decided to fine the majority of the squad for their below-par campaign. As per reports, the Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan squad is fined 50 lakhs PKR (16 lakhs in Indian rupees) each.
Additionally, the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also under a lot of scrutiny, as the fans and former cricketers, including Rashid Latif, are asking him some serious questions.

When the host asked Rashid Latif why Mohsin Naqvi wasn't making any public remarks about Pakistan's campaign, the former Pakistan captain didn't comment on the Chairman and sarcastically called him 'very authoritative'.
"He (Mohsin Naqvi) won't do anything to you (the host), but he won't spare me if I decide on saying the truth [Aap to bach bhi jayenge, hum toh bachenge bhi nahi agar humne sach bol diya]," Rashid Latif said while commenting on Mohsin Naqvi.

Pakistan's poor run in T20 World Cup 2026
Despite playing the whole tournament across two venues, the Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan were in shambles in the T20 World Cup 2026. After losing to India in the group stage, the Men in Green never recovered, which became the prime reason for their poor run in the ICC event.
After progressing to the Super 8s, Pakistan won just a single match, against Sri Lanka, by a mere 5 runs after putting 212 runs on the board.
Wholesale changes in Pakistan's squad
After the fiasco in the T20 World Cup, the PCB has decided to make a tons of changes in the squad for the upcoming three-game ODI series against Bangladesh.
Just five members from the T20 World Cup 2026 squad have been able to retain their places, with stars like Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz, and Naseem Shah getting axed. Although Fakhar Zaman is not named due to a hamstring injury.
It is worth mentioning that Shaheen Afridi will be leading the Men in Green in the ODIs on the tour of Bangladesh, with the pacer getting the reigns of Pakistan's ODI team for the first time. Although he has led his national team in five T20Is.
