Shukri Conrad Viciously Attacks His South African Players After Being Bitten For Own Words

South Africa had a forgettable outing in the T20 World Cup semifinal as New Zealand outclassed them and qualified for the final.

Batting first, the Proteas posted a respectable score of 169 runs, courtesy of Marco Jansen's valiant half-century. In response, New Zealand made a mockery of the total, as Finn Allen's blistering hundred powered them to a landslide victory

After South Africa were eliminated from the T20 World Cup, their head coach, Shukri Conrad, admitted to being comprehensively outplayed by a spirited Kiwi outfit.

Shukri Conrad's overconfident words grabbed limelight before semifinal

Before South Africa's T20 World Cup semifinal clash against New Zealand, Shukri Conrad was asked why the Proteas failed to jump the knockout hurdle in their previous attempts.

Conrad, having already coached the South African team to a WTC win and a historic away Test series victory over India, boasted his achievements, saying the Proteas lost those games as he wasn't in charge.

His statement oozed arrogance and sparked debates as South Africa headed to face the BlackCaps in the T20 World Cup semifinal.

Shukri Conrad believes South Africa were 'walloped' by New Zealand

As Shukri Conrad was bitten by his words following New Zealand's emphatic win, he took a jibe at his own men, highlighting how the South African players were nowhere close to their Kiwi counterparts in the high-octane face-off in Kolkata.

Conrad attended the post-match press conference after the Proteas crashed out of the T20 World Cup.

He reckoned the South African players didn't crumble, unlike in previous circumstances, because the New Zealand team didn't even allow them into the game.

The South African head coach had no hesitation in admitting his side's miseries, not mincing his words as he criticised his troops and hailed the opposition.

"I don't know if tonight was a choke. I thought it was a bloody walloping. We got our arses kicked. I think in order for you to choke, you must have had a sniff in the game. We didn't have a sniff. In South Africa, we say we'd get moered. Tonight, we got a proper snot klaaped, also a South African word meaning a real hiding," Shukri Conrad was quoted as saying by ICC.

Finn Allen mayhem shatters South Africa's unbeaten run

The pitch at Eden Gardens seemed a bit tacky when South Africa batted in the T20 World Cup semifinal. However, when Tim Seifert and Finn Allen entered the middle, it felt as if the destructive duo was playing on an entirely different strip.

Seifert clobbered his way through to a sensational 33-ball 58, showcasing red-hot form before the final. However, Allen was the star of the show, as he belted ten boundaries and eight humongous sixes and slammed the fastest-ever hundred in T20 World Cup history

The opener's blitzkrieg concluded South Africa's unbeaten run, with the title-favourites suffering an unexpected exit from the the competition.

Thus, New Zealand sealed their spot in the final and will meet the winner of the second semifinal between India and England, scheduled for Thursday, March 5, at the Wankhede Stadium.
