IND vs ENG Head To Head Records (PC - AFP.com)
For the third consecutive time, India and England will be at loggerheads in a semifinal of the T20 World Cup. It all started in 2022 when the Three Lions thrashed the Men in Blue by 10 wickets in Adelaide; the Indians avenged back in the 2024 T20 World Cup by winning by 68 runs in Georgetown. Now, the scores are levelled - both sides will be eager to finalise this semifinal and solidify their chances to lift the silverware for the third time.
After Adelaide and Georgetown, Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium will become the battleground for these powerhouses to take on each other in a semifinal.
No team has played a T20 World Cup final at home since Sri Lanka in 2012, let alone won it in their own backyard. Thus, the defending champions will be under a lot of pressure. Meanwhile, the Harry Brook-led side were brilliant in the Super 8s but were evenly matched in their matches in India.
India vs England Preview, Semifinal 1
The Men in Blue, under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership, are touted as the favourites to lift the trophy. But they haven't played their best cricket yet in this T20 World Cup; as a result, South Africa were able to rock past them in the Super 8s.
However, India learnt from the mistakes and conquered Zimbabwe and the West Indies. The Men in Blue were simply outstanding in their previous outing, where a Sanju Samson special helped them book a seat in the semifinal. Having said that, the Indians will look to bring the prime best starting from the knockouts.
On the other hand, England have won their last five matches in this T20 World Cup 2026. Just like India, they have also lost a single match, losing to the West Indies in the group stages. However, since that loss, the Three Lions have become unbeatable.
Skipper Harry Brook is leading his troops with the bat, along with assistance from Will Jacks, Jofra and Adil Rashid.
