Harbhajan Singh Responds To S Sreesanth’s Open Boxing Match Challenge

Harbhajan Singh has recently responded to the open challenge that S Sreesanth gave to the Indian cricketer on camera. The much-known slapgate feud, being the base of the recently lit-up verbal quarrel between the two, led to a boxing ring fight call from the ex-Indian pacer.

Sharing a cryptic message via an Instagram reel on his official social media handle, Harbhajan Singh finally responded to the boxing ring invite from Sreesanth.

What Happened Between Harbhajan And Sreesanth?

Recently, on a show called The Lallantop, S Sreesanth was found openly challenging Harbhajan Singh for a boxing ring fight, “man-to-man”. The challenge thrown was due to the indirect digs Harbhajan allegedly took at his former teammate via an advertisement addressing the infamous slapgate controversy.

Carrying the burning memory of the humiliation Sreesanth suffered during their IPL days, the pacer cancelled out any sympathy for Harbhajan and called for a fight.

"This same scene, do you have the guts? Do you have the guts to come into the ring with me? Can you sign and come? Can you? I am asking him. Do you have the guts to come into the ring with me? Let's see. This is an open challenge," Sreesanth said.

Harbhajan Singh Replies To Sreesanth’s Challenge Via Cryptic Reel

Taking to his official social media handle on Instagram, Harbhajan again took an indirect dig at the pacer with a paragraph of rhyming words or ‘shayari’.

In his own antics, Harbhajan uttered some verses that indirectly address Sreesanth’s call for the boxing ring match.

“Kisine bohot khoob kaha hai ki karne do jo log bakwas karte hai, ki karne do jo log bakwas karte hai, humesha khali bartaan hi to awaz karte hai” (As someone wisely said, let people say whatever they want. It's always the empty vessels that make the loudest noise.)

Harbhajan posted the reel on his page on June 19 at around 7 PM IST, and the video quickly garnered attention with fans pointing out the Sreesanth angle.

The video gained over 100K views with fans enjoying the brawl between the two ex-players.

Advertisement Controversy Adds Fuel To The Fire

Sreesanth and Harbhajan moved past the 2008 incident, and it has been almost 18 years since the beef. However, the recent advertisement that Harbhajan Singh acted in triggered a reaction from Sreesanth.

Unable to accept the humiliation, the pacer openly challenged Harbhajan while bringing in community respect into the fight.

"I challenge you, Bhajji. If you have this much of a problem with the slap thing and me, and you earn this much... let me earn too. Come into the ring. I am calling you from my heart. If we have some self-respect, let’s not do ads and all that. In a genuine way, for all the Malayalis and all the Sardars, please come. I am waiting," he concluded.

Although the call for the fight from the ex-India pacer's end seemed genuine, who is now an active member of the Bare Knuckle Fight League, any realistic conversion of the challenge into a real fight seems highly unlikely.
