The Woman alleged that she came into contact with Vipraj in May 2025, and the player lured her with marriage promises and sexually assaulted her.The case has now taken a new turn, and it could once again be trouble-calling for Vipraj, who is currently training with the Indian team ahead of the marquee Asian event.New development in Vipraj Nigam controversyAccording to sports journalist Abhishek Tripathi, the Woman, who filed a complaint against the Delhi Capitals cricketer had reached his house and waited for more than two hours to meet him.At that time, only Vipraj Nigam’s mother was at the house, while the player himself was out of the country. Vipraj’s father spoke to the girl on the phone and assured her they would discuss it a week later.The player could once again land in trouble unless the issue gets resolved, which looks highly unlikely.What transpired between Vipraj Nigam and the Woman?The all-rounder was accused by the woman of assaulting her in a hotel room in Noida, and a complaint was registered against the player. The case was registered on December 16, 2025. The woman explained in detail to the police that he called her to meet at a hotel in Sector 135 on July 29, where he sexually assaulted her and left the place.Here's what the Woman said regarding the entire controversy:"The first thing is that he has filed a wrong report against me. I want him to show the proof that I have blackmailed or troubled him. Neither have I ever bothered him, nor have I put any condition in front of him.""His claim that I made demands of him is false. I have all the recordings, including my calls with his mother and the cricketer," she further added.Delhi Capitals retained Vipraj for IPL 2026 despite off-field issuesRCB player Yash Dayal faced a similar situation when two separate FIR’s were filed against him. However, instead of playing him, RCB kept him in their squad, but he was not allowed to play a single game. On the other hand, when all IPL franchises had to announce their retention list for the 2026 season, Vipraj was one of the first names secured by the Capitals.The franchise was criticised for its decision, but the team backed the player. However, unlike the 2025 season, when the 22-year-old played 14 matches, the Delhi Capitals played him in only five matches in 2026, and he managed to score just 15 runs.Moreover, he failed to deliver with the ball, as he picked up just 2 wickets, with an economy rate of 12.56.
