Vipraj Nigam is a rising Indian all-rounder known for his dynamic batting and effective leg-spin bowling. Nigam has quickly emerged as a promising talent from Uttar Pradesh, gaining recognition for his ability to influence matches with both bat and ball.

Initially identified for his wicket-taking ability in domestic T20 leagues. He represents the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.

Vipraj Nigam’s Early Life and Background

Vipraj Nigam’s cricketing journey began at a young age when he expressed his ambition to play for India. Recognising his passion, his father supported his decision despite uncertainties. He started training under coach Sarwar Nawab and later travelled regularly to Lucknow to access better facilities and competitive cricket.

Interestingly, Nigam began his career primarily as a top-order batter. His transition into leg-spin bowling came later, earning him the tag of an “accidental spinner.” 

Vipraj Nigam’s Domestic Career

Vipraj Nigam’s rise to prominence came through T20 cricket, where his performances in domestic leagues and tournaments caught the selectors' attention.

He first made headlines in the UP T20 League, where he picked up 20 wickets in 11 matches for the Lucknow Falcons, emerging as one of the top performers in the tournament. This breakthrough performance played a key role in his selection for Uttar Pradesh across formats.

Vipraj Nigam’s IPL Career

Vipraj Nigam’s IPL journey began when Delhi Capitals signed him for INR 50 lakh ahead of the 2025 season. He made an immediate impact on debut against Lucknow Super Giants.

Coming into the match under pressure, he scored a quickfire 39 off just 15 balls, displaying fearless hitting. He also contributed with the ball, picking up a wicket and proving his value as a complete all-rounder.

Throughout the season, he continued to contribute with both bat and ball, finishing with a solid set of performances that earned him retention for the 2026 IPL season.
