In a significant development, the ECB announced the England squad for Women's T20 World Cup 2026 on Tuesday afternoon.
Veteran all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt has been named the captain of the side, which is also studded with marquee players like Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey and Sophie Ecclestone.
Led by Sciver-Brunt, the English team is placed in Group B and will face Sri Lanka in the Women's T20 World Cup opener at the Edgbaston.

Veteran allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the WPL, is set to lead England in the Women's T20 World Cup this year.
She has been a force to reckon with bat and ball in international circuit, having showcased his mettle as a match-winner for the English team. Sciver-Brunt has led England Women to eleven wins across sixteen T20Is and will be tasked to power them to glory on home soil.
Nat Sciver-Brunt has played 137 T20Is, amassing 2960 runs and scalping 90 wickets for the English Women.
In another development, uncapped 18-year-old spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman has received a surprise call-up for the mega event.

She has been impressive in the Women's Hundred competition, scalping 17 wickets at a superb economy of 6.86.
With Sophie Ecclestone spearheading the English bowling unit, Corteen-Coleman is expected to assist the experienced campaigner in the World Cup.
Danni Wyatt to spearhead England batting unit with Heather Knight and Sophia Dunkley
Apart from Nat Sciver-Brunt, the experienced trio of Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Heather Knight and Sophia Dunkley is expected to lead the England batting department.
Wyatt-Hodge can capitalise on the powerplay field restrictions, while Knight and Dunkley's ability to construct the innings and build impactful partnerships make them valuable assets in the shortest format.
Keeper-batter Amy Jones also provides the English women with a handy batting option, with Alice Capsey and Charlie Dean making it into the team as the spin bowling all-rounders.
