England will host Pakistan for the 3rd and final Test of the series on Wednesday, September 9. The two teams will lock horns at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. It will be a dead rubber game because the hosts have already clinched the series 2-0.

It has been a long break between the 2nd and 3rd Test, and a lot has happened in this gap. Since the 2nd Test, Pakistan have undergone a massive overhaul. PCB recalled 7 players, including the likes of Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha, following the debacle in the first two Tests.

Imam’s refusal to bat led to an investigation by the PCB, as the board has also confiscated the phones of several squad members, fearing a disciplinary breach. The Mohsin Naqvi-led board sacked head coach Sarfaraz Khan and bowling coach Umar. Therefore, the upcoming Test will mark the 1st assignment for Mike Hesson as Pakistan’s Test head coach.

For Pakistan, a fresh-looking squad will take the field at Edgbaston, whereas England have had a quiet week. The Joe Root-led side will miss Brydon Carse for the 2nd straight Test, and the rest are available for selection.

In the dead rubber, England will play for the whitewash, while Pakistan have to play for their pride. Ahead of the 3rd Test, this article will shed light on the pitch report and weather update.
