The IPL 2026 came to a conclusion just a couple of months ago, with defending champions RCB scripting history in the final. With over seven months remaining for IPL 2027, the focus has already shifted towards next year’s edition.
For starters, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise has arranged a special fitness camp for its players. It now appears that even Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchises are following a similar path to begin preparations for the IPL 2027 season under the same initiative.
CSK, Delhi Capitals and SRH to surpass others with IPL 2027 prep
As reported by Revsportz, franchises like CSK, Delhi Capitals and SRH are set to put their wheels in motion for next year’s IPL 2027 season. The three franchises will be scheduling fitness camps for their players as part of their early preparations.

The report also states that while the Delhi Capitals and the SRH franchises will be organizing their training camp in early August, the CSK management has asked their players for three-day slots as per their convenience.
The training camps will not only help the three franchises in evaluating their players and assessing their fitness, but it will also give them an early advantage over other franchises by allowing them to identify areas of improvement, strengthen team cohesion and begin planning well ahead of the IPL 2027 season.
CSK invites players for camp, MS Dhoni’s presence to be confirmed
Earlier in the day, the same report stated that the CSK team management has already invited its players for a training camp of either two or three days. The primary focus of the camp is to assess the fitness and eligibility of all players in the squad, just before taking final decisions on retentions, releases and possible trades for the IPL 2027 season.
It is worth noting that the training camp will likely not be joined by any overseas player of the CSK franchise, with only Team India stars and local talents expected to attend. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether if former captain and legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni will be attending the fitness camp.
CSK yet to reach playoffs since winning IPL 2023
It is worth noting that the CSK franchise is yet to qualify for the playoffs since winning the IPL 2023 season in Ahmedabad. With MS Dhoni stepping down as captain, the franchise has not been able to replicate its early success under the leadership of new skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad.
In the IPL 2026 season this year, the team finished eighth on the points table with mere six wins from 14 matches.
Delhi Capitals and SRH’s form in recent seasons
The Delhi Capitals and SRH franchises are also coming off inconsistent campaigns in recent seasons. The Capitals, for instance, is yet to win any IPL title and last reached the playoffs back in 2021.
The SRH, on the other hand, won its first and only IPL title a decade ago in 2016.
With both franchises, as well as CSK, planning to organize their training camps for IPL 2027, the occasion serves as an opportunity for them to fine-tune their preparations and lay out the early groundwork.
