CSK Release Statement After Fixing Allegations Rock IPL Once Again

CSK responds to match-fixing allegations. PC- AFPIndian cricket has been hit with massive match-fixing allegations, where a former Ranji player named Rachit Bhatia confessed that he had a mole in the CSK as well as in the DPL circuit. The Tehelka sting operation has not only caused a huge hara-kiri, but it has also given a massive headache to the authorities involved, i.e. the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management.CSK responds to match-fixing allegations, playing XI leaksDuring the Tehelka sting operation, Rachit Bhatia alleged that he had connections inside the CSK team in IPL 2025, who also featured in the DPL 2026, and who helped him get information like the the playing XI ahead of the toss. Although the DDCA has already responded and started its own investigation, the CSK management has also responded amid the chaos caused by a sting operation. Speaking to Cricbuzz, a CSK source said the franchise has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and will discuss the matter at its upcoming Annual General Meeting. “CSK said its board would look into reports linking the franchise to corruption activity inside the team. What has Rachit Bhatia's sting operation revealed?During the sting operation, Rachit Bhatia, who played six Ranji games and two SMAT fixtures for Nagaland, revealed that he used to pass CSK’s playing XIs to a bookmaker in London via Snapchat during IPL 2025, for which he earned INR 60 lakhs per game. He also said he did the same in five CSK matches, earning a total of INR 3 crore from the bookie. He did the same during the recently concluded DPL 2026, earning INR 40 lakhs per match. However, both CSK and DDCA have called the Tehelka sting operation unverified. Meanwhile, according to the Delhi Association’s secretary, Ashok Sharma, they have already written to the BCCI and sought help from Delhi Police to get to the bottom of it. Why is Vansh Bedi been linked in sting operation row?According to some media reports, former CSK wicketkeeper Vansh Bedi is being linked to leaks of the playing XI. However, the Delhi-based cricketer has categorically refused all the allegations, calling them “baseless” and “highly defamatory”. Meanwhile, as per the DDCA, the 23-year-old had reported a match-fixing approach to the Anti-Corruption Unit during the DPL 2026. For now, the Delhi cricketer's legal team is looking into the matter, as it is highly volatile for a budding cricketer like Vansh Bedi's career.
