Just not the Caribbean stars, legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has also been struck in there, and Hosein made an urge to the football legend. In a desperate plea, Hosein asked the football icon to send a plane so he could finally make it home.

After ending the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026, the West Indies players were eagerly waiting to go home, but the ongoing tension halted their way. After endless tries, the Caribbean stars were finally flown out of India in a special chartered flight, but they ended up being stranded in Saudi Arabia.

Not just them, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is also in the same position. As West Indies players are still far from reaching home safely, ace Caribbean spinner Akeal Hosein made a brainstorming plea to the legendary player, who is caught in the same crisis.
On his social media, Hosein requested Ronaldo to help arrange a safe flight for him to get home. He wrote, “At this point, I'm better off asking @Cristiano to send the 🛫 and come rescue me, yes…”. The social media post went viral as fans remained stunned by his bold request.
West Indies crash out of T20 World Cup as Akeal Hosein fails to shine
Stepping into the T20 World Cup 2016, West Indies’ outstanding form turned heads. Starting the campaign with a 35-run victory against Scotland, they carried on the domination and ended the group stage with an unbeaten streak. As the world backed them as one of the biggest contenders for the trophy, things faltered later on.
Starting the Super Eight stage with a massive victory of 107 runs against Zimbabwe, they faced two consecutive defeats. After the 5-wicket defeat against India in the last match, they ended their journey in the Super Eight stage, as the ultimate glory stayed away from them once again.
Despite the sheer Caribbean brilliance, Akeal Hosein failed to make any meaningful impact. In six matches, he secured seven wickets. His best performance came against Zimbabwe as the spinners registered a spell of 3/28.
Akeal Hosein gears up for a new stint in CSK colors
Since the first season of the IPL, the West Indies players have dominated the cash-rich league, but Akeal Hosein remained an exception. Making his debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, he played just one match, conceding 40 runs and taking only a single wicket.
As the IPL 2026 is approaching, the Caribbean spinner is set to make a return. After CSK bought him for an amount of 2 crore, the left-arm spinner is set for a new beginning. With his arrival, the CSK franchise gains a major boost in their spin department, and Hosein looks poised for a breakthrough season.
