Bangladesh decimate Australia in first ODI

Bangladesh decimated Australia in the first ODI in Mirpur to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Batting first, half-centuries from Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mosaddek Hossain pushed Bangladesh to 284-8 in 50 overs.

In response, a four-wicket haul from Nahid Rana and crucial wickets from Mustafizur Rahman and Hossain restricted Australia to just 191-9. The second ODI will be played on June 11.

Ruturaj Gaikwad century wins it for India A

India A edged out hosts Sri Lanka by eight runs in the first match of the tri-series in Dambulla. Batting first, a century from Ruturaj Gaikwad and a fifty from captain Tilak Varma steered India A to 277-6 in 50 overs.

Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige responded with a fighting 74, but wickets for Arshad Khan, Anukul Roy, Ayush Badoni and Vipraj Nigam folded up the hosts for just 269 in 48.5 overs.

Mohammed Siraj replaced by Prasidh Krishna for ENG, IRE T20Is

The BCCI has withdrawn senior fast bowler Mohammed Siraj from India squad for the upcoming T20I series in Ireland and England. Siraj was excluded from the team as part of the speedster’s workload management.

The board has now named fellow paceman Prasidh Krishna as Siraj’s replacement for the two tours. Krishna will now join the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Harshit Rana and fellow fast bowlers in Ireland and England.

Ben Stokes, Gus Atkinson in nightclub controversy

England Test captain Ben Stokes and his teammate Gus Atkinson have been involved in a fresh nightclub controversy, involving a Saracens rugby player. The incident occurred shortly after England’s comprehensive first Test win over New Zealand at Lord’s.

Both Stokes and Atkinson broke England’s new midnight curfew and were embroiled in a melee with a Saracens academy player, as reported by the Telegraph. The ECB is currently investigating a breach of team protocols.

Shai Hope to lead West Indies T20I squad vs Sri Lanka

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has unveiled a strong 15-player West Indies squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the visiting Sri Lanka team. Shai Hope will continue to lead the team, while Johnson Charles and Quentin Sampson have been dropped from the West Indies squad.

Romario Shepherd, Sherfane Rutherford, Rovman Powell, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph among others also made it to the national team for the home series against Sri Lanka.
