Babar Azam ends century drought with 52-ball ton in PSL 2026
Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam struck an unbeaten 100* from just 52 balls against the Quetta Gladiators in match number 29 of the IPL 2026 season. The legendary opener belted six fours and four huge sixes as Zalmi mounted 255-3 in 20 overs. The innings marked Babar’s 11th century in T20 cricket, his third in PSL, and also his first in the T20 format overall after a long break.
Mumbai Indians to take call on Rohit Sharma’s return before Titans match
Rohit Sharma, amid his injury concerns, took part in the Mumbai Indians training session in Ahmedabad a day before his team’s all-important IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans. While the legendary opener looked in good nick, there is still no clarity on his recovery update.

A report indicates that Sharma is still subject to fitness clearance, and the Mumbai Indians management will be making a call on his availability just before the match against the Titans.
Varun Chakaravarthy becomes fastest Indian spinner to 200 T20 wickets
Varun Chakaravarthy scalped match-winning figures of 3-14 against Rajasthan Royals in match number 28 of the IPL 2026 season in Kolkata. Chakaravarthy’s spell helped him complete 200 T20 wickets in just 152 innings spanning 155 matches. In doing so, the cricketer became the fastest Indian spinner in T20 history to reach 200 wickets, toppling Kuldeep Yadav by five games.
Rinku Singh roars back into form
KKR zealot Rinku Singh smeared 53* off just 34 balls with five boundaries and two huge sixes against Rajasthan Royals in match number 28 of the IPL 2026 season. Batting at number six, the blistering left-hander blazed his side past their 156-run target with two balls to spare, even though the hosts slipped to 85-6 at one stage. The innings marked Rinku’s first half-century of the season, and his first since the 2023 edition of the tournament.
Ayush Mhatre ruled out of few CSK games in IPL 2026
Ayush Mhatre is set to miss a few matches for the CSK franchise this IPL 2026 season. The young opening batter suffered a hamstring injury during CSK’s previous match against the SRH in Hyderabad this past weekend. The cricketer is now scheduled to undergo scans on April 20 to determine the extent of his injury.
Mhatre’s further availability will be determined after the scan results, as per the CSK management.
