Pratika Rawal replaces Jemimah Rodrigues in Asia Cup 2026

Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the upcoming 2026 Women’s Asia Cup and 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The senior Indian batter recently sustained a right hamstring injury while playing for the Southern Brave franchise in The Hundred 2026 season.

The BCCI has named prolific opening batter and uncapped T20I star Pratika Rawal as an official replacement for injured Rodrigues, albeit only for the immediate Asia Cup in the UAE.

Lyle Robertson shatters massive record, Scotland goes on top

Scotland off-spinner Lyle Robertson steamrolled Canada in match number 127 of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 in Dundee. Making his ODI debut in the match, the cricketer picked up match-winning figures of 6-52, thus recording the best bowling figures in ODIs among all spin-bowling debutants. 

His spell helped Scotland secure a huge 170-run win to go to the top of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 points table.

Injury scare for Babar Azam before England Test series

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has suffered an injury scare ahead of his team’s three-match Test series against England. Playing against the Professional County Club Select XI for a three-day warm-up match, the cricketer was struck on his hand and was visibly spotted in deep pain. He was quickly attended by the physios of the team.

As of now, it remains to be seen if the legendary Pakistani batter can attain full recovery in time for the Test series.

Tanzid Hasan tons up to take Bangladesh above Australia

Bangladesh opening batter Tanzid Hasan punched out a fighting century against Australia on Day 2 of the series-opening first Test at Darwin. The cricketer composed 101 runs off 197 balls with eight boundaries and a six against the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.

His innings helped Bangladesh reach 351-6 by stumps to attain a sizeable lead of 153 runs against the hosts.

Steve Smith levels world record in Tests

Australian legend Steve Smith plucked three catches on Day 2 of the series-opening first Test against Bangladesh in Darwin. The cricketer has now extended his tally to 218 catches in his Test career, thus levelling up with England captain Joe Root in becoming the most successful fielder in the format. 

Both Root and Smith are currently tied with 218 catches each to their names, leading second-placed Rahul Dravid by eight catches.
