Australian Player Publicly Mocks Aaqib Javed After Recent Shockwaves

Pakistan Cricket is in disarray, and the world is laughing at them, at least as per Pakistan’s High Performance Director Aaqib Javed. According to Javed, Pakistan’s poor team composition on away tours is the sole reason that has made them incapable of competing against top oppositions.

Former Australian opener Usman Khawaja, who was born in Pakistan, seems to agree with the PCB official as per his latest social media activity.

While speaking with Geo Sports, PCB Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed implied that by not listening to his advice, the Pakistan cricket team is in shambles at the moment. 

Javed later admitted that the “world is laughing” at Pakistan cricket at the moment since they are not able to compete at the top level.

The interview was later re-shared by Cricinfo on their official social media handles. Former Australian opener Usman Khawaja took note of the viral Instagram post and left a hilarious remark in the comments section.

Seemingly agreeing with Javed’s “world is laughing” remarks, the Pakistan-born Australian cricketer wrote “the world is laughing harder now”.

What did Aaqib Javed say about Pakistan Cricket?

Aaqib Javed stated that he urged team captain Babar Azam and outbound coach Sarfaraz Ahmed to include Ubaid Shah in the playing XI against England since he constantly clicks 140 kph. 

The former Pakistan cricketer also wanted the team management to include at least one all-rounder in the top seven against England to add an extra layer to the group. 

Aaqib Javed added that while he understood the exclusion of Salman Agha, he believes that someone like Ghazi Ghori should have replaced senior wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan in the 15-player squad.

When Usman Khawaja trolled PCB for “fining” Pakistan players

Incidentally, this was not the first occasion where Usman Khawaja has openly trolled Pakistan Cricket. Just earlier this year after Pakistan failed to reach the semifinal of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, several reports indicated that the PCB was looking to impose “fines” on underperforming players of the team. 

Khawaja later took to social media and expressed his amusement by saying “Just heard that Pakistani players got fined after the T20 World Cup. I didn’t believe it at first, but it’s on Cricinfo so must be true. It’s absolutely amazing that the PCB could think this is a good idea. I’m laughing but I can’t believe it.”

Squad revamp, sacked coaches and desperation to avoid 0-3 sweep…

A lot has happened with Pakistan Cricket over the past one week itself. Apart from dealing with the Imran Khan controversy, the PCB still seems to be reeling from Pakistan’s two crushing defeats at the hands of hosts England. 

After the second Test, the PCB released as many as seven players from the squad, including first Test captain Salman Agha, seasoned stumper Mohammad Rizwan and opening batter Imam-ul-Haq, who reportedly ‘faked’ his injury to avoid batting on pace-friendly Lord’s surface. 

The board also sacked head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul midway into the series to make way for Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke respectively. 

Becoming a laughing stock of the entire cricketing world and in the middle of coping much criticism regarding questionable player selections and fitness availability, the PCB seems to be desperate in avoiding a possible 0-3 series defeat. 

Not long ago, the Pakistan cricket team also lost 0-2 to Bangladesh and is currently languishing at the bottom of the WTC table. 

The third England vs Pakistan will be hosted by Edgbaston in Birmingham between September 9 and September 13 next week.
