The BCCI has unveiled the India's T20I squad for the upcoming series against Afghanistan. Ben Stokes has joined the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL 2026-27 season.

Babar Azam suffering from high fever before third Test vs England
Pakistan captain Babar Azam is suffering from a very high fever in England ahead of his team’s third Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham next week. The legendary Pakistan batter has already missed the opening Test of the tour owing to an injury.

However, Babar is expected to recover soon and might play Pakistan’s impending third Test against England, as confirmed by the Pakistan media manager.
Shreyas Iyer to lead as India squad announced for AFG series
The BCCI has named a 15-player India squad for the upcoming series against Afghanistan in Delhi. Shreyas Iyer will continue to serve as India captain, while senior all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana have been named in the squad; however, their availability is subject to fitness.
Tilak Varma will continue as vice-captain, and Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan will start out as the team’s wicketkeeping options.
Misbah-ul-Haq resigns from Pakistan selection committee
Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has resigned from the Pakistan selection committee. As per reports, Misbah, along with the rest of the selection committee, was asked to provide a detailed explanation regarding the selection of Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq for the England tour.
The former Pakistan cricketer resigned from his post just a day after the PCB released seven Pakistan players from the squad in England ahead of the third Test in Birmingham.
Ben Stokes to join Adelaide Strikers for BBL 2026-27
Former England captain Ben Stokes has joined the Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming BBL 2026-27 season.
Upon joining the Strikers, Stokes said “I'm really excited to be joining the Adelaide Strikers for BBL|16. I've always enjoyed playing in Australia, and when the opportunity came up to join the Strikers it was one I couldn't pass up.”
Stokes previously played BBL cricket over a decade ago for the Melbourne Renegades team in Australia.
Shimron Hetmyer clubs 40-ball century in CPL 2026 for Guyana Amazon Warriors
Shimron Hetmyer bludgeoned 111* off just 43 balls for the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise against the Trinbago Knight Riders in match number 22 of the CPL 2026 season.
The cricketer raced to his hundred from just 40 deliveries to notch up the joint-fastest century in the history of the CPL, levelling up with Andre Russell and Tim Seifert.
