Thank you for tuning in to this space. Its time to bid adios as Arijit Kundu signs off on behalf of co-commentators Mohammad Anab, Abhishek Sharma, and scorer associate Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stick around to CREX for more cricketing feasts.
That's it from this contest. West Indies stomped around Harare in the first ODI after a comprehensive triumph on the back of skipper Hayley Matthews' carnage. However, Zimbabwe bounced back as a collective unit to topple the visitors in front of the home crowd to equalise the series. The decider awaits us on Wednesday (September 30).
Zimbabwe Women have registered their first-ever win over West Indies Women in international cricket. Credit must go to all the home side players but the most deserving candidate among them is 30-year-old Nyasha Gwanzura. She first picked up her career-best figures of 4/33 and then played a crucial unbeaten knock of 18 off 37 balls to win the game for her side.

West Indies will certainly be disappointed with their batting performance. The visitors lost wickets at regular intervals and, barring a few batters, none of them managed to spend time in the middle. Eight West Indian batters were dismissed for a single-digit score.
Player of the Match: Nyasha Gwanzura
Zimbabwe Women players are walking along the boundary as a lap of honour. They are acknowledging the local fans, who have come all the way to the Harare Sports Club to cheer for the home team.
7:05 PM IST, 3:35 PM Local Time: The Chevrons flag flies high with pride in Harare. The Zimbabwe Women outclassed the mighty Windies Women, making their home fans dance in delight. They equalise the series 1-1 at the moment. A fantastic moment for the hosts as the subsequent third ODI remains to be a decider.
Arriving for the chase, the Zimbabwe side started slow. They could add only 33 runs inside the first powerplay with the openers taking their own time to score runs. Boundaries weren't frequent as they took a cautious approach against the spinners. Eventually, the pair started to accelerate, scoring the next 34 runs in seven overs. However, the introduction of Aaliyah Alleyne drew the first blood as Modester Mupachikwa fell for 38 off 57 balls.
The Zimbabwean players incurred a lot of dot balls in the proceeding overs. This pressure led to downfalls in the form of a couple of more scalps. Suddenly, the home side were curtailed to 70/3 before Beloved Biza and captain Josephine Nkomo rescued the ship with a 30-run fourth-wicket stand. Although West Indies tried to creep by enforcing a couple of setbacks in the form of these two wickets, it was too late to make a positive change. Eventually, the Chevrons lower-middle order kept the scoreboard ticking, and chalked out the remainder of runs with minimum pressure, sealing the deal with four wickets in hand.
Eyeing to follow their blueprint of piling up a hefty total in the first innings from the previous ODI, West Indies started well inside the powerplay. Although a slow start, they lost a wicket inside this phase before wickets started tumbling.
Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor added 47 runs for the second wicket after the initial breakthrough before being pushed to 78/6 midway through the 22nd over. Nyasha Gwanzura and Michelle Mavunga picked up a four-for and a three-fer each despite Taylor's gritty 47. She saw her partners falling for single digits while struggling alone for a long time. Eventually, Afy Fletcher's run-a-ball 15 and Ashmini Munisar's unbridled 20 propeller the side to 139 runs.
