In the Women’s Cricket Competition, India qualify for the Gold Medal match and will face Sri Lanka for the ultimate prize. The Women in Blue beat Bangladesh comprehensively by 114 runs in the second semi-final. Bangladesh will now face Pakistan with Bronze Medal at stake.

Chasing a mammoth 196, Bangladesh got off to a shaky start. They lost Juairiya Ferdous (0), Sobhana Mostary (4) and skipper Nigar Sultana (9) inside the powerplay. Shorna Akter (5) failed to make an impact with the bat. Dilara Akter looked good at the top of the order and scored 27 before getting dismissed in the 10th over.

Twin strikes from Nandani Sharma in the 11th over completely derailed Bangladesh. Only Sharmin Akter (10*) and Sultana Khatun (12*) managed to get to double digits apart from Dilara as Bangladesh got bundled out on 81 in just 15.4 overs to lose the game by 114 runs.

For India, Nandani Sharma (3/25) and Deepti Sharma (3/7) picked up three wickets each. Shree Charani (2/7) grabbed two whereas Kranti Gaud (1/20) and Shreyanka Patil (1/22) grabbed one each as they completed a fine bowling performance.
