9:43 AM IST, 1:13 PM Local Time: There you go. Sri Lanka Women chase down 175 successfully to make it to the Gold Medal Match of the Asian Games Women’s Cricket Competition 2026. Pakistan Women just couldn’t put in an all-around effort today and will now compete in the Bronze Medal match.
Pakistan were asked to bat first and Sugandika Kumari cleaned up Gull Feroza (0) in the very first over. Saira Jabeen at three got a start but fell on 17 in the final over of the powerplay. Ayesha Zafar joined Shawaal Zulfiqar and both started building a partnership for Pakistan.
Ayesha played some beautiful strokes and kept scoring at a brisk rate. Shawaal too got in the groove after getting her eye in as the Lankans failed to keep a check on the scoring rate in the middle overs. Both the Pakistan’s batters brought up their respective fifties as the stand grew past 100.
Ayesha got run out on 40-ball 71 as the 115-run stand came to an end in the 17th over. In the 19th over, Shawaal holed out in the deep on 54. Skipper Fatima Sana played a fine cameo of 12-ball 20 to power Pakistan to 177/4 at the end of their 20 overs.
