Milestone
An excellent performance by the West Indies Women, who registered a win by 25 runs. That's it from our live coverage of this game. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my colleagues Saptak Sanyal and Sachin Yadav. Cheers.
Hayley Kristen Matthews (West Indies Women Captain): "(It was looking a little bit tight there) I feel towards the back end, it started getting off a bit. But we still thought we have enough on the board and did not panic too much. We had the experienced bowlers to get the job done. Jahzara Claxton who is fairly new, did well with her execution.

(Couple of youngsters coming in. You must be excited as a captain?) I said about Claxton. Floating with the bat at the top of the order and then she came good with the ball. Same goes for Glasgow as well. Chinelle Henry was also good. So a lot of positives for us with the experience in the top of the order. They can do their things in the bottom as well.

(Anything you want to tweak in the plan?) I think it was a good wicket to bat on. We knew 180 was par and we got where we wanted to get. Afy Fletcher and a few bowlers also bowled and we gave them the opportunity. I think we could have been a little bit more clinical. The wicket got to be better as the day went on."
Fatima Sana (Pakistan Women Captain): "(On the loss) I think we need to be more clinical in the fielding and the bowling because we gave around 25–30 runs in extras.

(Will she promote herself in the batting order?) I’m planning to jump in, but that’s the team decision.

(On the team's bowling) I think we need to be better with the variations, the way our spinners are doing. I think personally I take the blame because of the powerplay bowling and the death bowling, so I think we need to be more clinical in the bowling."
Chinelle Henry (Player of the Match): "(The way you guys played was brilliant) I think with the T20 world cup, it is a good practice. Yesterday we bowled first and today we took it as an opportunity to bowl first. We tried to set a good total for our bowlers to defend.

(Do you relish coming in late in the batting order?) I have enjoyed doing that over the years. But as you go along, the role gets bigger and deeper. I am happy to do. From the skipper and all the batters, I got good support. The stage was set.

(On your bowling after changing the ends) I think it is about what works for the team. I am supposed to bowl from that end if it works for the team.

Time for post-match presentations...
11:37 PM IST, 7:07 PM Local Time: A clinical performance by the West Indies as they register a 25-run victory. The Caribbean ladies have registered their second win on the trot in this tri-series. Pakistan did bat well in bits and pieces but it was never enough to overcome the West Indies' total. The Pakistanis finished their innings at 174/8 and will look to address their issues before the next game against Ireland Women.

After being asked to bat first, West Indies posted an imposing 199 for 6 from their 20 overs. Captain Hayley Matthews gave the innings early momentum with an aggressive start, while the middle order capitalised brilliantly in the latter stages to push the total close to the 200-mark. Jannillea Glasgow was the top scorer with 42 off 25 balls.

Pakistan struggled to contain the scoring rate as the West Indies batters consistently found boundaries through the innings. The new-ball duo of skipper Fatima Sana and Diana Baig conceded 50 and 58, respectively. Spinners Nashra Sandhu and Rameen Shamim took two wickets and bowled really well.

In reply, Pakistan never truly recovered after losing early wickets in the chase. The side lost four wickets inside the powerplay itself. Saira Jabeen scored 30 off 19 balls and looked good but she failed to convert her start into something big. The required rate quickly climbed beyond control despite some resistance from Iram Javed and Aliya Riaz, who attempted to rebuild the innings with a counterattacking partnership. Riaz was the top scorer with 37 off 28 balls.

However, the West Indies bowlers maintained pressure throughout and prevented Pakistan from gaining any sustained momentum. Chinelle Henry and Shawnisha Hector took two wickets apiece.

The result highlighted West Indies’ superior power-hitting and finishing ability, particularly in the final overs, where they accelerated sharply to put Pakistan under massive scoreboard pressure. Pakistan’s bowling lacked consistency at the death, while the batting lineup struggled to keep pace with the steep chase after the top-order collapse.
