Scotland Women steamroll Netherlands Women in the opening fixture of the tri-series. This is their first win over the Dutch in this format since 2024. With only about a fortnight remaining for the start of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, this victory will act as a confidence booster.
Meanwhile, Babette de Leede and co. would be eager to bounce back. They will face Bangladesh next on Sunday, May 31. But before that, tomorrow, we will see Scotland lock horns with Nigar Sultana's troops. Do join us for that game. Our coverage will begin at 5:30 PM IST, 1:00 PM local time.
For now, this is the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Manan Mehta and Sachin Yadav waving goodbye. (In case you missed the action feel free to scroll below the quotes and read through comprehensive the summary of the match.) Sayonara!

Kathryn Bryce (Scotland Women captain): "(On the match as a whole) Yeah they got off to a very good start with the bat. We knew they were going to come hard at us. The wicket was very good to bat on so credit to our bowlers to keep them down to a chasable total.
(On the opportunity to play at home) Yeah it is incredible to play at home. The support was brilliant as well. The sun was shining bright and everything was perfect. Also, it is much better for people to travel across the city with a bus rather than fly across the country to watch us play.
(On the opening partnership) Absolutely outstanding by the openers. Not just the runs but the way they went about it. It was amazing to watch.
(Anything to improve upon) My first over maybe (laughs)."
Babette de Leede (Netherlands Women captain): "(Where did it go wrong?) We did not score enough runs, despite Heather (Siegers) giving us a flyer. We collapsed in the middle. The spinners bowled well for us. The fielding was pretty good too. So, we will take the positives and move along.
(On playing this series in lead-up to the T20 World Cup) Great series in preperation for the World Cup. We have not played international cricket since the global qualifiers. So, it is good to play some international cricket under the Scottish sun."
Katherine Fraser (POTM): "(On her opening partnership with Darcey Carter) Yeah absolutely, getting a 100-run opening partnership was really special. We were clear with our plans and we did it.
(On the influence of Craig Wallace) Yeah Wallace has given us the freedom to go out and play our natural game. Yeah initially Darcey played second fiddle but she caught up really well and eventually played an amazing knock for us."

7:53 PM IST, 3:23 PM local time: The hosts have steamrolled the Dutch. They have not just won this game, but dominated it. They get off to the perfect start in this series. And given that we are just about a fortnight away from the start of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026, this victory must feel that much more sweeter for Scotland Women. They win by 9 wickets and with 31 balls to spare.
Add to that: this was the first international match they were playing at home in 4 years. Also, they had not beaten Netherlands Women in this format since 2024. A healthy crowd gathered at The Grange to witness this performance of theirs and Kathryn Bryce and co. made sure that they got their money's worth.
The start was not great. They lost the toss and were asked to bowl first on a pitch that seemed like a batter's friend. Heather Siegers seemed on a mission to make the most of it too. The Dutch opener scored a scintillating 16-ball-32, riding on which Netherlands raced to 47/1 in 4 overs, which saw 10 boundaries. It was the Scotland skipper who, having conceded 17 runs in her first over, bounced back to dismiss Siegers and thus, began the downhill slide. They went from 47/1 in 4 overs to 78/5 in 10.2.
Scotland continued to rotate their bowlers around making sure that the batters did not settle against anyone in particular. Left arm spinner Kirstie Gordon — who has playing her first international since 2019 — returned the best figures of 3/27. While wickets were falling like a pack of cards from one end, Robine Rijke (44-ball-46) held the other. In Frederique Ovverdijk (23-ball-22), she even got an able ally for sometime. The duo stitched a 53-run stand for the 6th wicket that helped Netherlands reach a respectable score of 141/8 in 20 overs.
However, it turned out to be a walk in the park for the home team. Darcy Carter stole the limelight with a riveting knock of 55 (37), during which she scored 8 fours and a six. Her ball-striking was clean and powerful, and the running between the wickets an icing on the cake. In addition to it, she also grabbed three catches in the first innings. Meanwhile, Katherine Fraser played second fiddle to her in the 100-run opening partnership and switched gears post her dismissal. She finished with 56* (41) in addition to her 1/19 (4 overs) with the ball. Kathryn Bryce, who came out to bat at number 3 scored an effervescent 12-ball-23* to guide the team over the finish line.
There was not much to talk of Netherland's bowling. Overdijk was the lone wicket-taker. Isabel van der Woning had a nightmare-ish outing. She delivered just one over, which included a no-ball and four wide balls in addition to 4wd. That over, the 5th of the innings, yielded 29 runs and the Dutch never really recovered from it.
