Shikhar Dhawan receives the Trophy as they defeat South Africa 2-1 in this three-match ODI series.
Shikhar Dhawan: "I am very very proud of the boys the way they have played in this series. They are all young boys and the way they carried responsibility, the way they showed maturity, I would like to thank the support staff creating such an environment for the boys making them comfortable. We were 1-nil down but the way we showed character at the end of the 1st game. It was amazing and we took all the positives out of that game and at the same time we knew we dropped a few catches so from the next game we saw that the boys really pulled their socks up and fielding wise they did great. We didn't put too much pressure on us For us it's all about process. We were focused on our process. I am enjoying the journey and I would look to keep performing consistently for whatever team I play. I didn't perform well in this series but I am very happy that all the young boys they stepped up and showed great character. The wickets weren't batting friendly. All the wickets were tough except the last because after the dew it got easier The credit goes to all the boys, the batting and bowling unit. The bowlers were very disciplined today and the spinners did well to restrict the total."
Mohammad Siraj (Players of the Series): "You acquire a lot of confidence when you perform for a strong squad. I had to shoulder the burden. At the beginning of each inning, I attempt to determine the appropriate lengths. You need to have that inner fire and enthusiasm to be a fast bowler. I'm satisfied with my performance and grateful for the Player of the Series award."
Kuldeep Yadav (Player of the Match): "To be very honest, I am very happy. I am really happy. I am getting the man of the match award for the first time since my comeback after my injury. I have my rhythm back, my length back.
My main motto is to bowl in the right areas and get the wickets. I always see to get my rhythm correct. It has been a motto since I have been back after injury. Now, I will play a few T20 games in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. and will try to perform well."
Game Changer of the Match: Washington Sundar
Trusted Player of the Match: Shahbaz Ahmed
David Miller (South Africa Captain): "Very tough and it doesn't help when you score 100. Too much pressure for the bowlers. Disappointing result today to finish off a series like that is pretty disappointing.
It was kinda two paced as it was stoppy and skidding as well. It had little bit of turn as well, no excuse at all but in these conditions batting first, there was rain in the past 2 days. The pitch was under covers so a bit tacky as well.
We were really good in some areas but we have failed to find our feat in past few months. We have our T20 team that's doing really well. In one-day cricket we need to extend the good periods of the game and just read the flow of the game a bit better."
Here we are back with the presentations!
