So thats it from the commentary box today folks. It was a pleasure covering this encounter. Till the next time adieous from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my fellow commentators Kingshuk Kusari and Somya Kapoor.
Arya: That unbeaten partnership helped Tamil Nadu race off to the target with 13 deliveries left. They would like to believe that they came out of a corner. They surely need to get their act right when they face tougher opposition in the semi-final. After batting first, Himachal Pradesh posted a meagre 135 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Abhimanyu Rana and Nitin Sharma scored 28 and 26 each but they were unable to up the ante. Wickets also kept falling in regular junctures which never really allowed them to press on the accelerator. Captain Rishi Dhawan chipped in with an useful hand which gave them some respectability. Eventually the score of 135 didn't prove to be enough as TN won by 5 wickets.
Arya: The target of 136 looked like a cakewalk at the start of the 2nd innings but swing bowler Vaibhav Arora had other ideas as he castled three top order batsman in literally no time which pushed the favourites totally on the back foot. It was a sight to behold for any cricket lover as he kept breaching the defence of the Tamil Nadu top order. He was magical in his opening spell which accounted for the wickets of Hari Nishanth, Jagadeesan and Arun Karthik. Tamil Nadu was further pegged back with the wicket of Dinesh Karthik and it looked Himachal had tightened the screws on their much-fancied opposition. But in T20's its not over until its over. What transpired in the next few overs would make every Tamil Nadu fans proud. Baba Aparajith waged a lone battle before a certain Shah Rukh Khan turned the match on its head with a whirlwind knock of 40 of a mere 19 deliveries.
Arya: Tamil Nadu the clear favourites of the day survived a major scare against Himachal Pradesh in the 2nd quarter final but in the end it was some scintillating hitting in the latter stages of the match which helped them romp home by 5 wickets and with 13 deliveries left.

6 What a brilliant way to finish the game. Back of the length ball. Aparajith picks the length quickly and lands the pick up pull straight into the square leg boundary. TN win with 13 balls to spare and with 5 wickets remaining. What a quarterfinal this has been, a classic to say the least.
