That's all from this enthralling contest, folks! For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. CHEERS!
2:08 AM IST, 9:38 PM Local Time: PHEW! The match went right down to the wire, but Manny Lumsden held his nerve under immense pressure on the final ball to seal a thrilling five-run victory for Hampshire. It was a dramatic finish for the Hawks, who extended their winning streak to five matches after bouncing back from an opening-game defeat.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Hampshire produced a commanding batting display to post an imposing 215/5 in their 20 overs. Openers Toby Albert (39 off 32) and Alistair Orr (22 off 18) provided a solid start, adding 73 runs for the first wicket and helping the visitors reach 55 without loss in the powerplay. Although Surrey struck twice in quick succession, Hampshire maintained their momentum through a brilliant partnership between Hilton Cartwright and Joe Weatherley. Cartwright smashed a rapid 40 off 17 balls, while Weatherley played a composed knock of 43 off 26 deliveries as the duo added 56 runs for the third wicket.

The acceleration continued in the latter stages, with Tristan Stubbs contributing an unbeaten 30 off 18 balls and sharing a quickfire 50-run stand with Weatherley. Hampshire finished with a flourish as James Fuller blasted 18 not out off just six deliveries, including a sensational final over that yielded 24 runs. For Surrey, Will Jacks and Reece Topley picked up two wickets each, but Hampshire's powerful batting unit ensured they finished with a daunting total.

The chase got off to the worst possible start when Jason Roy departed off the very first ball, but Will Jacks counterattacked brilliantly, smashing 70 off 42 deliveries with six fours and three sixes. He dominated the scoring through the powerplay and, alongside Dan Lawrence, revived the innings after Surrey slipped to 52/3.

The turning point of the chase came through a magnificent 88-run partnership between Jacks and Lawrence. While Jacks played the aggressor, Lawrence anchored the innings before shifting gears spectacularly. After Jacks fell for 70 at 140/4, Lawrence took charge and kept Surrey firmly in the hunt with a breathtaking unbeaten 94 off just 47 balls, striking six fours and six sixes.

Despite Lawrence's heroics, Hampshire held their nerve in the closing stages. Surrey needed a strong finish, but the wickets of Laurie Evans, Tom Curran, and Jordan Clark at crucial moments halted their momentum. Lawrence battled valiantly until the very end but fell one big hit short of guiding Surrey to victory.

For Hampshire, skipper Chris Wood led from the front with 3/32, while Scott Currie impressed with 2/24. James Fuller and Liam Dawson chipped in with a wicket apiece. Although Manny Lumsden (0/65) endured a difficult outing with the ball, he redeemed himself by defending the final delivery with seven runs required, helping Hampshire seal a dramatic five-run win and extend their winning streak to five consecutive matches.

19.6 Manny Lumsden to Chris Jordan
1 Manny Lumsden held his nerve, and Hampshire won the last over thriller by 5 runs. Too full and on the stumps. Jordan drills it straight down the ground and will only get a single.
7 needed off the final ball. Can Chris Jordan smash a six here?
19.5 Manny Lumsden to Daniel Lawrence
1lb Length delivery, angled into the batter. Lawrence plants his front leg across and hacks at it but misses and the ball deflects off the pads to short mid-wicket for a leg bye.
19.4 Manny Lumsden to Daniel Lawrence
4 FOUR RUNS! Excellent shot from Daniel Lawrence, and the equation comes down to 8 runs off 2 balls. Too full and angled into the batter. Lawrence makes room and drives it through the gap between cover and extra cover for a four.
12 needed off 3 balls.
