Earlier in the game, Sussex Sharks won the toss and elected to bat. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Harrison Ward and Michael Burgess provided some resistance, stitching together a valuable partnership of 64 runs for the 5th wicket. Ward scored 54 runs, while Burgess blazed his way to 64 runs off just 37 balls. The remaining batsmen struggled to make an impact. In the end, Sharks got to a total of 160 runs.
Gloucestershire's bowlers David Payne, Ajeet Dale, Tom Smith, and Graeme van Buuren scalped a couple of wickets each, causing havoc for the Sharks.
Gloucestershire had a smooth start to their chase of 161 runs, scoring 56 runs in the powerplay despite losing 3 wickets. Grant Roelofsen provided a quick boost with his 30 runs off just 14 balls. Ben Charlesworth then formed a crucial partnership of 42 runs with James Bracey before being dismissed for his 34 runs.
Matt Taylor joined Bracey in the middle and showcased an aggressive approach, smashing boundaries and bringing the required runs down to 15 off 24 balls. In the end, it was a comfortable victory for Gloucestershire as Matt played a rapid cameo of 26 runs off 10 balls and Bracey contributed a valuable 23 runs, guiding their team to victory in just 16.5 overs.
Sussex Sharks' Nathan McAndrew took two wickets, while Aristides Karvelas, Shadab Khan, and Fynn Hudson-Prentice chipped in with one wicket each.
