A few big smiles for the cameras. England soak in the moment and pose for the photographs, celebrating a 3-0 series clean sweep in style. A fitting end to a dominant series.
England, meanwhile, leave with almost everything they wanted. Their attack consistently created pressure. Their batters found ways to score quickly. Even when Pakistan landed a punch, England absorbed it and moved on. The only question now is what Pakistan do with the lessons from this tour. Can they turn fight into consistency? Can the top order give their middle order something to work with? Can the flashes of brilliance become a habit?
For Pakistan, the takeaway is more complicated. The first two Tests exposed the batting problems brutally. This Test exposed them again in the first innings. But the second innings showed something different. Awais and Masood fought. Babar contributed. The lower order refused to surrender. And Razaullah announced himself with four wickets and an extraordinary 81 on debut. Pakistan still lost. But for the first time in the series, there was real courage in the fightback. That is something to build on.
And what a series this has been for England. Leeds was an innings-and-103-run win. Lord's brought a 194-run victory. Birmingham ended with an eight-wicket win. Three Tests. Three victories. A clean sweep. England's bowling was the foundation. Ollie Robinson finished as the leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets, while Josh Tongue had 19. With the bat, Harry Brook led the run-scoring with 215, while Jordan Cox made 202.
So what decided this Test? The first innings. Pakistan's 133 put England in complete command. England's 453 created a 320-run cushion. From there, Pakistan needed something extraordinary. And they nearly produced it. Their second innings was their best batting effort of the series by a distance. Masood made 95. Babar made 76. Awais made 59. Razaullah made 81 on debut. Abbas made 42. It was a proper fightback. But when you give a team like England a 320-run lead, the margin for error becomes tiny.
