In reply, despite losing a wicket in the opening over without opening the board, the 2nd Wicket Partnership between N Jagadeesan and Chepauk Skipper, Baba Aparajith took the Chepauk Super Gillies into a really comfortable position in the run chase.
When things looked like an easy chase for the Chepauk Super Gillies, Lyca Kovai Kings fought back really hard in the game as both the set batters were dismissed in quick intervals. A couple of tight overs from the Lyca bowlers got the Required Rate climbing up.
The middle order batters struggled to get their timing right as they are unable to find the boundary for more than 3 overs. LKK made a remarkable comeback in this game and defended this score as they won the season opener by 13 runs.OVER 20
