Yasir Ali(Khulna Tigers Captain): "It's about performing the basic tasks correctly. Joy and Tamim bhai performed admirably today, and I also made a few good decisions. I didn't want to waste the wicket because it was difficult for the rookie batter. I was confident that if Azam Khan and I stuck around, we could make amends."
Mahmudul Hasan Joy(Player of the match): " Yeah, I needed some runs as didn't play well in the last few months. The wicket was fairly decent, I tried to make things straightforward. I knew I could score significantly if I got to set."
It's time for the post-match presentation.
Shuvagata Hom (Chattogram Challengers): "Not good enough, we fell short by 15-20 runs. We had opportunities, and our bowlers performed admirably, but the death overs fell short. In order to perform better the following time, we must improve. Not good enough; we fell short by 15-20 runs. 4:59 PM IST | Deepak: Skipper Yasir Ali 💥finishes the game in a style. An electrifying⚡ inning of 36* off 17 balls from skipper Yasir Ali helped his side to thump Chattogram Challengers by 7 wickets.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Chattogram Challengers posted 157 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Their inning was anchored by Usman Khan,💥 who scored 45 runs off 31 balls and was the top scorer for the Chattogram Challengers. On the other hand, Pakistani veteran Wahab Riaz💪 was the star bowler for the Khulna Tigers, as he extracted 4 wickets and gave away 36 runs in 4 overs.
In pursuit of Chattogram’s 157 runs, Khulna Tigers got off to a shaky start as they lost their opener Munim Shahriar in the very first over, who failed to open his account. Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy started rotating the strike sensibly. The pair started to score briskly and posted 70 runs for the loss of one wicket in nine overs. Their efforts were cut short when Tamim Iqbal fell short by 6 runs of his well-deserved half-century and departed in the 13th over. Mahmudul Hasan Joy completed his half-century but followed Iqbal soon and departed for 59 runs off 44 balls.
Skipper Yasir Ali and Azam Khan took responsibility to score briskly at the cue end of the inning, and they did exactly the same as Skipper Yasir Ali finished the game with a six. Yasir Ali remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 17 balls, while Azam Khan remained unbeaten on 15 runs off 16 balls.
On the other hand, Nihaduzzaman scalped a couple of wickets for Chattogram Challengers and Shuvagata Hom contributed one wicket.
Overall the game was skewed toward the Khulna Tigers and they managed to seal it easily. They will look to follow a similar approach in the upcoming games while Chattogram Challengers need to rethink and execute their plans in the upcoming games as upcoming matches are very crucial for them.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
