Milestone
That is it from us in this rather exciting game of cricket. It went down to the wire, but the Dutch were that much strong mentally to pull off a win.

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to sign off on behalf of my colleagues Darpan Tikiya and Asraj Khan. B-Byee!!!
We were unable to collect the post match quotes as the interviewer and the players did not have a mic on.
Player of the Match: Heather Siegers
8:38 PM IST and 4:08 PM Local Time: Netherlands win by 8 runs! It has been a fine performance from the Dutch! Bangladesh fought valiantly in the form of their Captain but that is all. No other batter could contribute and they fell agonizingly close in this chase!

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. The Dutch openers were up to the challenge and they started off in fine fashion. Heather Siegers (52 off 43) in particular played a fine knock. She stitched two really valuable partnerships with Phebe Molkenboer (29 off 24) and then with Sterre Kalis (28 off 27).

The Netherlands were bossing the contest with 115 on the board. Bangladesh did strike back to back and brought the score to 116/3. However, a powerful finish from the likes of Babette de Leede (16 off 7) and Robine Rijke (18 off 10) powered the Dutch to a formidable total of 162/5! The pick of the bowlers was Fariha Trisna with 2-26 in her spell.

The chase was always going to be a stiff one as Bangladesh had never chased anything above 150 in the past. It did not start in the best fashion. The Dutch new ball bowlers were effective and reduced Bangladesh to 13/2. Nigar Sultana and Juairiya Ferdous added 37 for the third wicket. However, that is when Ferdous fell. The Dutch once again regained control and continued to strike. Nigar Sultana was scoring decently from one end. However she found no support from the other end.

Further wickets tumbled regularly and Bangladesh were down to 117/5. Nigar got to her 50 but as I mentioned without great support from the other end. The equation came down to 30 off 2 overs and further to 18 off 6 balls. The task was so stiff that eventually Bangladesh lost 3 wickets in the final over including the one of Nigar for 77. They fell 8 runs short. The pick of the bowlers was Heather Siegers for her 3-39 in 4 overs.

A wicket to end the innings! Netherlands have eked out a win fine here! They take this contest by 8 runs!
19.6 Heather Siegers to Nahida Akter
W OUT! CAUGHT! Nahida swings for the hills but finds Kalis at deep midwicket. Heather Siegers takes another wicket in the decisive last over and with that, Netherlands Women have beaten Bangladesh Women for the first time ever. The fact that these two teams are placed in the same group in the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup increases the significance of this result. On a length, outside off. The batter stepped out and tried to wallop this one away — she had no other option. But she could not clear the tall lady at the brink of the boundary. Joyous scenes unfold as the Dutch get together to exchange high-fives, hugs and smiles. A great result for them.
19.5 Heather Siegers to Nahida Akter
2 On a length, at the stumps. Nahida steps out, swings hard and the ball goes trickling away towards the right of deep midwicket. They come scampering back for the second. But that won't be enough. 9 to win off the last ball.
