The teenage superstar is enjoying a historic IPL 2026 season, smashing 680 runs at a jaw-dropping strike-rate of 242.86 while breaking multiple records. The biggest statement came in the IPL 2026 Eliminator when Sooryavanshi destroyed Sunrisers Hyderabad with a breathtaking 97 off just 29 balls. That unforgettable knock has convinced many fans and experts that the youngster is already ready for international cricket. With selectors eager to hand him an India debut soon, several current Indian players could now find their places under serious threat. Here are the cricketers whose India careers Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could directly impact with his sensational rise.Which Indian Players Does Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Threaten?3. Yashasvi JaiswalYashasvi Jaiswal is one Indian player whose future could directly be affected by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s unbelievable rise. While Jaiswal has been a decent IPL player, Sooryavanshi has completely dominated the headlines with his explosive batting performances. Both have opened together for Rajasthan Royals this season, but Sooryavanshi has clearly looked like the bigger match-winner. With India already having Shubman Gill as captain and Rohit Sharma, Jaiswal’s ODI opportunities could reduce even further in future. At present, Test cricket remains Jaiswal’s only secure spot in the Indian setup. However, if selectors eventually decide to groom Sooryavanshi for the longest format as well, Jaiswal’s place across formats could suddenly come under massive pressure. Sanju SamsonSanju Samson is another Indian player whose future could be impacted by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise. After spending more than a decade constantly moving in and out of the Indian team, Samson has finally managed to establish consistency in recent years. The 31-year-old recently won the Player of the Tournament award in the T20 World Cup 2026, but his place has never truly looked untouchable. Rajasthan Royals replacing Samson with Sooryavanshi as their main attraction only increases speculation around his long-term India future.Samson currently plays only T20Is regularly, and India’s selectors have previously shown how quickly combinations can change. From Shubman Gill replacing him during Asia Cup 2025 to Ishan Kishan taking his spot again at the start of T20 World Cup 2026, a similar situation could repeat with Sooryavanshi now emerging as India’s next superstar.1. Rohit SharmaRohit Sharma’s ODI career is now on the edge. Having already retired from Tests and T20Is, his focus is solely on playing the 2027 World Cup to fulfill his dream of winning the big ODI World Cup.At 39, Rohit will be over 40 by the time the World Cup begins, and selectors are already weighing whether to continue with him. His longevity in the squad is under question, leaving room for younger stars to stake a claim. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s sensational IPL 2026 form makes him a genuine contender for India’s ODI opening role in the near future, including the 2027 World Cup in South Africa. If he continues this trajectory, it could eventually bring Rohit Sharma’s India career to an end. Also Read: 4 Indians In As ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Match Officials Revealed
