Cricket Netherlands has named a strong 15-member Netherlands squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Canada. Scott Edwards will continue to lead the national side, and many players who took part in the recently-concluded 2026 ICC T20 World Cup were retained by the selection committee.
Interestingly, the 2026 Canada tri-nation ODI series will be the nineteenth round of the 2024-26 Cricket World Cup League 2 tournament. The United States will serve as the third team of the series, as all three sides prepare themselves to plot their path to the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup in South Africa next year.

Star performers like all-rounder Bas de Leede and blistering opener Max O'Dowd both found a place in the Netherlands squad alongside senior pro Roelof Van Der Merwe. Sebastian Braat was called back into the side after a gap of five years, considering the 33-year-old last played any form of international cricket way back in April 2021.
Netherlands head coach Ryan Cook has expressed his excitement over the return of Braat following his prolific all-round run in domestic cricket. Cook said “There have been some very encouraging performances in the Topklasse season so far and this is a great opportunity for this squad to showcase the improvements and skills which have developed since the previous WCL (League 2) tournament.”
