The Big Bash League (BBL) has produced several memorable family connections since its inception in 2011-12. Over the years, brothers have shared the same dressing room, played against each other and, in some cases, represented different franchises in Australia's premier T20 competition.

The list is set to grow even more interesting in BBL-16, with English twins Jamie and Craig Overton joining the Melbourne Stars. The duo will create BBL history when they take the field together, becoming the first set of twins to play in the men's Big Bash League.

Jamie Overton And Craig Overton Set To Make BBL History

The Melbourne Stars have signed Jamie Overton and Craig Overton for the upcoming BBL season, bringing the English twins together in the same franchise. While Jamie Overton already has three seasons of BBL experience with the Adelaide Strikers, Craig is set to make his debut in the competition.

Jamie has been one of the Strikers' leading overseas bowlers in recent seasons. He took 16 wickets in BBL-13, finishing as the fifth-highest wicket-taker, before adding 11 wickets in BBL-14. He was also named Adelaide's MVP in the latter season.

Craig Overton, meanwhile, has extensive experience with Somerset and has represented England in Test and ODI cricket. The older of the twins by three minutes, he will now get the opportunity to share the BBL stage with his brother.

The Overtons are also capable with the bat, making the signing particularly intriguing for the Stars. As a result, BBL-16 could witness a unique combination of twin fast bowlers and power-hitters.
