BCCI to not allow Mohsin Naqvi to get an extension as ACC PresidentMohsin Naqvi has been in the ACC President's chair since April 2025, after succeeding BCCI’s former secretary Jay Shah at the top cricketing post in Asia. With his tenure set to end in April next year, Naqvi has only seven months left in the top role. Although there have been instances when the Presidents have received extensions, it won’t be the case for the current president, with the BCCI not on the best of terms with Naqvi after the recent drama in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. According to PTI’s Kushan Sarkar, not only the BCCI but the 47-year-old is expected to receive no support from the other Asian board members. Also Read: Aaqib Javed To Become The Latest Victim Of Pakistan's Debacle, Confirms Ex Selector“Mohsin Naqvi's tenure as chairman of ACC ends in April, 2027 which is roughly another 7 months. However, India won two of these tournaments, and the Indian teams refused to accept the trophies from the PCB chief. Recently, the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated the board’s stance, saying they have been clear for one and a half years, when Suryakumar Yadav’s India refused to take the coveted trophy from Naqvi, who later took it with him. “Our stand is about one and a half years old now. Because of our stand, we have yet to receive the trophy for the men’s Asia Cup. So we cannot change it,” Devajit Saikia told PTI.“We can say that the deputy chairman of the ACC can hand over the trophy. That was our request, so that all these controversies can be avoided, because everybody knows what is happening on the ground.”Mohsin Naqvi won’t be ACC President during next major eventDespite multiple attempts, the Indian board has yet to secure the trophy from the ACC. Meanwhile, it is expected to do the same with the Women’s Asia Cup trophy as well. Thus, the BCCI won’t be giving their support to Naqvi for his extension at the ACC. Nevertheless, the next major ACC tournament won't be concluded under the Mohsin Naqvi regime. Hence, such drama won't unfold when any Indian team win an ACC event. The next ACC event in line is the men's Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be hosted in Bangladesh next year in June-July. Also Read: All Controversies In Mohsin Naqvi’s Tenure As ACC Chairman
