Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya has grabbed the limelight amid reports of his potential trade to a different IPL team for the 2027 season. 

Although MI have dismissed the speculations, as many as six teams- RR, PBKS, KKR, LSG, GT and DC- have reportedly shown interest in roping the veteran allrounder during the IPL trade window. 

Although Hardik Pandya's reputation and past heroics make him a valuable all-round asset, the dip in his form certainly can't be denied. 

Since Mumbai Indians appointed him as the captain, Hardik Pandya has managed 646 runs at a poor average of 20.8 and a strike rate of 147.8. In the same period, Pandya has bagged 29 wickets across 35 innings at a miserable economy of 10.55. 

These numbers suggest that Hardik Pandya hasn't lived up to his standards in the IPL of late. However, his reputation as a proven performer for India still could fetch him a million-dollar contract if Mumbai Indians decide to trade him off ahead of IPL 2027.

In 11 innings, Holder bagged 17 wickets, forming GT's robust bowling lineup alongside Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan. Jason Holder is statistically the most successful bowler in T20 cricket since 2025, scalping 135 wickets in 98 innings.

Apart from his bowling heroics, Jason Holder's ability to score handy runs lower down the order makes him one of the finest all-rounders at present; so, he can potentially fetch more money than Pandya if he gets traded.

Sam Curran has been a phenomenal performer in T20Is for England. Curran, who has 67 wickets under his belt, played a pivotal role in powering England to the T20 World Cup semifinal, scoring 167 runs and scalping six wickets. 

Additionally, Sam Curran has proved his mettle as a potent weapon across phases. Although he operates as a medium pacer, Curran's ability to bamboozle the batters with wily variations makes him an option as good as Hardik Pandya with the ball. 

Being capable of playing as an anchor, a spin hitter and a finisher, Curran brings flexibility to the table as a batter. Thus, his skill set and recent form could help Sam Curran earn more than Pandya if Rajasthan Royals trade him before the IPL 2027 season.

Jamie Overton had a breakthrough IPL season for CSK in the tournament's 2026 edition. While most of his teammates failed to make an impact with the ball, Jamie Overton spearheaded CSK's bowling unit alongside Anshul Kamboj with distinction until an injury setback curtailed his IPL 2026 journey.
