Thus, the teenage star received his maiden India call-up for the Ireland and England T20I series.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his India debut on Jul 06, 2026, in the second T20I against Ireland. At 15 years and 99 days, the Bihar batter became the youngest player to represent India in international cricket across all formats.
Vaibhav failed to replicate his IPL 2026 exploits. The teenage sensation was expected to dominate, but could only amass 42 runs in three T20I innings in Ireland and England.
However, on July 23, 2026, Sooryavanshi bounced back from a modest UK tour by smashing a blistering 50 off 18 balls against Zimbabwe in Harare. The left-handed batter from Samastipur, Bihar, opened the innings for India in the 126-run chase and played a brilliant innings despite the recent flops.
In pursuit, the fifteen-year-old Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to score a half-century in men's T20I cricket. Notably, this isn’t the only record he secured with his fifty.

At 15 years and 118 days old, Indian prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became the youngest male cricketer to score a half-century in T20I and international cricket history during the first match against Zimbabwe in Harare on July 23, 2026. He eclipsed Gibraltar’s Louis Bruce for the feat.

#2 Youngest Indian to Score 50 Runs in T20I Match
Sooryavanshi, at 15, surpassed the likes of Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Rishabh Pant to become the youngest Indian to score a T20I fifty. Earlier, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma held the record for nearly 2 decades.
#3 Youngest to Score 50 Runs in an International Match
The teenager also became the youngest to score a half-century in men's T20 internationals and international cricket from a Full Member nation. In the process, he surpassed Nepal’s Kusal Malla.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi entered the history books by becoming the youngest Indian cricketer to score a fifty in international cricket. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar held the record to his name for 37 years.
#5 Youngest to Score 50 Runs in an International Match (Full-member Team)
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (15y 118d) has become the youngest player from a Full Member nation to score a fifty in Men's T20Is, surpassing Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who was 17y 296d against Zimbabwe in Chattogram in 2019.
#6 Second Fastest 50 vs Zimbabwe in T20Is in terms of Balls
The Indian prodigy etched close to the Namibian batter, Jan Frylinck’s record (13) for the fastest fifty against Zimbabwe in T20Is in terms of balls. However, missed it by 5 deliveries. Nonetheless, the West Indies’ Shimron Hetmyer is behind in scoring the second fastest feat.
