Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Becomes Youngest Player To Score A T20I Fifty In Grand India Redemption

India's 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi finally announced his arrival on the international stage in stunning fashion by becoming the youngest player to score a half-century in men's T20I cricket.

The youngster achieved the remarkable feat during the ongoing first T20I against Zimbabwe at Harare on Thursday. He scored 50 runs off just 19 balls at a remarkable strike-rate of 263.16 with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now sits at the top of the list after becoming the youngest player to score a T20I fifty at just 15 years of age. The young Indian opener displayed excellent timing, confidence and maturity during his innings.

Before Sooryavanshi's achievement, the record belonged to Gibraltar's Louis Bruce. Bruce scored 60 runs against Malta on August 20, 2021, when he was just 16 years and 56 days old.

Sooryavanshi also made history as the youngest Indian to score a half-century in international cricket. With this knock, he broke the long-standing record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who scored his first international fifty at 16 years and 213 days against Pakistan in 1989.

Parthiv Patel is third on the list, having reached the milestone at 18 years and 299 days against Australia in 2004.

 Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's explosive half-century against Zimbabwe is an innings of redemption. After enduring a difficult debut T20I series against England, the 15-year-old finally delivered the innings many had been waiting for.

Against England, Sooryavanshi played three T20Is, scoring 42 runs at a strike rate of 168.00.

In this knock, it was clear that Sooryavanshi had worked on himself and maintained his attacking approach while showing maturity.
