India 200 T20I Wins List: Record Against Each Team

India on Tuesday became the first team in the history of cricket to have 200 T20I wins. With 194 outright wins, five Super Over victories and one triumph via Bowl-Out, the Men in Blue reached the historic feat when they defeated Japan in a 5-over-per-side thriller.

It was India’s 291st T20I match, of which they suffered 81 defeats. One might find that math is not mathing with nine no-result fixtures, but there was one occasion when India’s T20I match ended up in a tie and there was no Super Over.

It was one of the rarest of rare cases when India vs New Zealand T20I match, which took place in Napier in November 2022, finished as a tie. New Zealand were 160 in 19.4 overs, while India’s score read 75/4 after nine overs before rain’s arrival. It was the exact DLS par score, and thus, it ended up in a tie.

Looking Back At India’s 200 T20I Wins

India took 83 matches to get to their 50 wins in T20Is. After that, they took 72 more matches to register century of wins in this format.

Things kept on improving, as 70 more matches took them to 150th T20I win. And then, all they took were 66 more matches to get to 200 T20I wins.

In terms of runs, India’s biggest win in T20Is came in 2022, against New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. There, they registered a thumping 168-run victory, having bundled them out for 66 after piling up 234/4.

On the other hand, India’s biggest T20I defeat came this year only, against England. There, in Nottingham, they lost to England by 125 runs, having folded out for 76 after coming to chase 202.

Which Team Has Best T20I Record Against India?

In terms of most number of losses suffered against a single side, England have haunted India more than any other country in T20Is. They have 16 wins over India, followed by South Africa’s tally of 14 and Australia’s 12.

Even according to win/loss ratio, England have the best record in T20Is against India among any other opposition.
