Batters with all Test centuries at a single venue [Source: AFP]
Some batters seem to find a special sense of comfort at certain grounds, repeatedly producing their best performances whenever they return. For a select group of players, that consistency has been remarkable enough to see every Test century of their careers come at the same venue.
Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq for instance, has plundered each of his three Test hundreds at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. While he averages a prolific 92.60 in the city’s iconic ground, the elegant top-order batter averages just 28.61 in all other cricket venues.
Much like Imam-ul-Haq’s unwilling penchant for one particular stadium, several other batters have also found themselves remarkably prolific at a single Test venue, where each of their career hundreds has been registered. Here is a look at some of the players who have scored all their Test centuries at a single ground.
1. Nkrumah Bonner (WI) - 2 (both at Vivian Richards Stadium)
Nkrumah Bonner played 15 Tests for the West Indies between February 2021 and December 2022 before going out of national contention. The cricketer scored two centuries during the two-year period, both at the Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound.

Bonner charted the first of those centuries against Sri Lanka in only the second month of his Test career. The right-hander listed another 123 off 355 balls against England the following year.
2. Gary Cosier (Australia) - 2 (both at MCG)
Former Australian cricketer Gary Cosier scored one century in each of his first two Test series for Australia between 1975 and 1977. He registered a regal 109 on his Test debut against the West Indies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the Boxing Day Test of 1975.
In the New Year’s Test of 1977, he clattered a match-winning 168 off 206 balls for Australia against Pakistan at the same venue.
3. Shiv Sundar Das (India) - 2 (both at VCA Stadium, Nagpur)
Forgotten Team India star Shiv Sundar Das scored just two Test centuries in his 23-match career between 2000 and 2002. Playing just the second Test of his career in the series-opener against Zimbabwe at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur, he made 110 off 175 balls while opening the innings.
Das composed another 105 against the same opponent at the exact same venue in February 2002, this time in a winning cause for India.
4. Wajahatullah Wasti (Pakistan) - 2 (both at Gaddafi Stadium)
Former Pakistan opener Wajahatullah Wasti scored two Test centuries for his side in his six-match career between February 1999 and May 2000. Interestingly, the cricketer registered those hundreds in both innings of a single match against Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
He plundered scores of 133 and 121* in an Asian Test Championship fixture in March 1999 to win the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
5. Yasir Hameed (Pakistan) - 2 (both at National Stadium Karachi)
Much like Imam-ul-Haq and Wajahatullah Wasti, Yasir Hameed was another Pakistani opener who held special love for a single venue. In his case, the venue was the National Stadium in Karachi.
Remarkably, the attacking right-handed opener also scored both his hundreds in a single match, on his debut no less against Bangladesh in August 2003. Making match-winning scores of 170 and 105, Yasir failed to make the most of his promising start as he spent the next 24 Tests of his career without hitting another century.
6. Peter Fulton (New Zealand) - 2 (both at Eden Park, Auckland)
Former New Zealand opener Peter Fulton is another player who scored all two of his career Test centuries in a single match. Taking on England at the Eden Park in Auckland in March 2013, the right-handed piled up scores of 136 and 110 in a drawn Test.
7. John Moroney (Australia) - 2 (both at Ellis Park)
Late Australian cricketer John Moroney is one of the few players in history who has scored all his Test hundreds at a single “away” venue. Taking on South Africa in the fourth Test of the series in February 1950 at the Ellis Park in Johannesburg, he registered scores of 118 and 101* against the hosts in a high-scoring draw.
8. William Murdoch (Australia) - 2 (both at Kennington Oval)
Late Australian wicketkeeper-batter William Murdoch registered two centuries in his 19-match Test career, both against England at the Kennington Oval in September 1880 and August 1884 respectively.
He registered his maiden Test century as captain of Australia with a monumental 153*, and converted his second ton into a double hundred in a drawn Test of the 1884 series.
