Rawalpindiz Strongest XI For PSL 2026 [Source: @thepindiz/X.com]
The Rawalpindiz, a newly formed franchise, is set to make its PSL debut in the 2026 season. It was sold to Walee Technologies for a massive PKR 2.45 billion, making it the most expensive franchise deal in PSL history.
While the team was supposed to play its home games at the Rawalpindi Stadium, the venue has been dropped after PSL 2026 was revised to curb the fuel crisis in Pakistan.
That being said, as far as the squad is concerned, the Rawalpindiz did a decent job at the player auction. They acquired Mohammad Rizwan, one of Pakistan’s most popular cricketers in the white-ball format. He is expected to hold the leadership role in PSL 2026.
Apart from that, the franchise has a strong squad pool to build a winning combination. On that note, let’s see what could be Rawalpindiz’s strongest XI for the PSL 2026.
Rawalpindiz Strongest XI For PSL 2026
Top-Order - Mohammad Rizwan, Abdullah Fazal, Yasir Khan
Captain Mohammad Rizwan will undoubtedly take the opener’s responsibility for Rawanpindiz alongside Abdullah Fazal. Rizwan has over 2700 runs in the PSL at 42.61 average. Hence, he will set the tone of this batting unit throughout the tournament.
To support him, Abdullah Fazal will bat at the other end. He is a relatively young talent who scored two half-centuries in the National T20 Cup. In First Class cricket, Fazal has over 1800 runs at 41.54 average.

At no. 3, Yasir Khan is expected to bat for Rawalpindiz. Yasir earlier played three PSL seasons, scoring 496 runs at 24.80 average. He is still just 23 years old with a lot of opportunities coming his way to prove himself.
Middle-Order - Daryl Mitchell, Kamran Ghulam, Sam Billings, Cole McConchie
At no. 4, Daryl Mitchell will come in to bat for Rawalpindiz. He has an impressive T20 record and has also played PSL before, where he accumulated 241 runs in 9 games.
Kamran Ghulam will likely come at no. 5. The 30-year-old has had inconsistent opportunities in the PSL, as his average is just over 30. Regardless, his role will be to accelerate the run rate in the middle overs and tackle spin.
Sam Billings is expected to play the role of a finisher. He can hit long sixes and smash bowlers in the death overs. Cole McConchie is another power-hitter who can complement Billings. So, this duo will come into play in the latter half of the innings to put some extra runs on the board.
Bowlers - Mohammad Amir, Rishad Hossain, Naseem Shah, Zaman Khan
As for the bowling department, Mohammad Amir and Naseem Shah will lead the pace attack for Rawalpindiz. Both are experienced bowlers who can make an impact with the new ball as well as in the death overs.
Naseem, however, has been struggling with form recently. In PSL 2025, he picked only 9 wickets for Islamabad United at a high average of over 40. Even for Pakistan, he is struggling to stay consistent.
Hence, Naseem Shah's form is a big headache for Rawalpindiz heading into the PSL 2026 season.
Zaman Khan is also a good talent who played the last 4 seasons for Lahore Qalandars, fetching 45 wickets at 25.55 average.
As for spin, Rishad Hossain from Bangladesh will be key for Rawalpindiz. While the BCB is yet to provide an NOC, Hossain can restrict runs and even chip crucial wickets in the middle-overs.
