Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are already involved in IPL trade discussions after another disappointing campaign.

Following their last-place finish in IPL 2025, the Men in Yellow revamped their squad significantly ahead of IPL 2026 in an attempt to bounce back.

Despite introducing several young players and making key changes, the five-time champions failed to secure a playoff berth. CSK struggled to compete against stronger opponents on several occasions.

As a result, they eventually finished 8th on IPL points table, managing only four wins in 14 matches.

Consequently, with the IPL 2027 auction approaching, the franchise could consider trading a few underperforming players.

Here are three CSK players who could be traded before IPL 2027.

CSK Players Who Can Be Traded Before IPL 2027

Noor Ahmad

Noor Ahmad had an underwhelming IPL 2026 campaign after enjoying an impressive debut season with CSK in 2025. The left-arm wrist-spinner had claimed 24 wickets in IPL 2025 and emerged as one of the team’s most reliable bowlers. Therefore, expectations were high after CSK invested ₹10 crore to retain him.

However, he failed to replicate his previous performances. Noor picked up only 13 wickets in 14 matches while maintaining an economy rate of 8.39, which was below expectations considering his role as the team’s lead spinner.

As a result, CSK could explore a trade ahead of IPL 2027, especially since franchises such as Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are likely to strengthen their spin departments.

Interestingly, there have also been reports linking Noor Ahmad with a potential trade involving Ashutosh Sharma, although nothing has been confirmed.

Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has been one of CSK’s most dependable middle-order batters since joining the franchise in 2022. Across 65 innings for the Super Kings, he has accumulated 1,730 runs and played several match-winning knocks. Nevertheless, IPL 2026 turned out to be a disappointing season for the powerful left-hander.

Shivam Dube managed only 270 runs in 12 innings and struggled to make a significant impact with the bat. Furthermore, Dube contributed very little with the ball, taking just one wicket in four bowling innings. Owing to his inconsistent performances, CSK could consider trading him if an attractive offer arrives.

Meanwhile, reports have linked Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya with a sensational move to CSK, with Shivam Dube reportedly being discussed as part of a potential swap deal.

Although these remain speculative reports, teams such as Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals could also show interest in Dube because of his ability to contribute as a pace-bowling all-rounder.

Mukesh Choudhary

Mukesh Choudhary is another player who could find himself on the trade list after failing to deliver consistently. Bought for just ₹30 lakh, the left-arm pacer has struggled to justify his place in the squad over the past two seasons.

In IPL 2025, Mukesh picked up only one wicket in two matches. Although he improved slightly in IPL 2026 by taking eight wickets in eight matches, his economy rate of 8.89 remained a concern. Consequently, CSK may look to part ways with the pacer as they continue rebuilding their bowling attack.

On the other hand, franchises searching for additional pace-bowling options could view Mukesh as a valuable backup.

Teams such as SRH and Mumbai Indians might emerge as potential destinations if CSK decide to place him on the trade market ahead of IPL 2027.
