Prasidh Krishna has struggled in T2OIs recently [Source: AFP]
Prasidh Krishna has all the tools to become a successful bowler for India. He has the height factor; he can bowl at a decent pace and also has the ability to generate movement from the surface. However, for some reason, the lanky pacer has yet to crack international cricket.
The right-arm pacer has done well in patches, but consistency has been missing from Prasidh’s dictionary, and it has been evident from his performance in the last year. He has been particularly criticised for his performances in the T20 format, as the pacer has a habit of leaking too many runs in his four overs.
In the first T20I against Ireland, his four overs were the difference-makers as the Indian pacer conceded 57 runs in 4 overs, and helped Ireland cross the 180-run mark. In his last two T20I games, the pacer has given away 125 runs, which showcases his inability to stop the flow of runs.
India desperately needs to replace Prasidh in the T20Is, and here are 3 bowlers who are perfect to replace the 30-year-old in T20Is.
1) Mohsin Khan
Arguably one of the best seamers in the Indian domestic circuit, Mohsin Khan would have made his India debut a long time ago had his career not been marred by injuries. He has all the tools necessary to become a top-notch bowler for the country, but injuries continue to derail his journey.
However, when fit, there is no one better than him. The left-arm pacer can swing the ball both ways, and he also has the ability to bowl at a quicker pace.
| Criterion | Data |
| Matches | 69 |
| Dismissals | 91 |
| Economy rate | 7.66 |
(Mohsin Khan T20 stats)
- 91 wickets in 69 matches showcase Mohsin’s ability to dismiss batters in the game’s shortest format. Moreover, the left-armer has an economy rate of just 7.66 as he also has the knack of putting restrictions on the scoring rate.
- In IPL 2026, he scalped 11 wickets in just seven matches, and he can be a perfect wicket-taking replacement for Prasidh Krishna.
2) Kartik Tyagi
If there is one bowler who impressed everyone with his skill set in IPL 2026, then it was Kartik Tyagi. The KKR pacer found a place in the playing XI due to an injury to Harshit Rana, but soon, he became an integral part of the squad, and delivered match-winning performances.
| Criterion | Data |
| Matches | 14 |
| Dismissals | 18 |
| Economy rate | 9.76 |
(Kartik Tyagi stats in IPL 2026)
- Tyagi played 14 matches in the IPL 2026, and scalped 18 wickets. He was KKR’s best bowler as the team struggled to take wickets.

- Moreover, his arrival would also solve India’s death-bowling woes in Bumrah’s absence. Prasidh was tried as the death bowler in the first T20I, but he failed to deliver the goods.
- He can bowl in the middle overs and can also chip in when the batters are trying to go hard in the death overs.
3) Sakib Hussain
SRH's bowling attack was touted to be the worst in the IPL 2026 at the start, but the Orange Army had a gem hidden in their squad, and his name was Sakib Hussain. The right-arm pacer is fast and furious, and can deliver in different phases of the game, unlike Prasidh.
In IPL 2026, Sakib played 11 matches and scalped 15 wickets, with an economy of 9.45. While his teammate, Praful Hinge hogged the limelight, it was Sakib who came out as a better bowler at the end of the tournament.
Just like Kartik Tyagi, India can use him in the death overs, and he can solve the problems that Prasidh Krishna failed to solve.
