Born in 2001, Vrinda Dinesh is a right-handed batter. Vrinda plays at the top of the order for her state team Karnataka.
Vrinda started playing professional cricket when she was only 13. Her father, Dinesh Subbappa, who was a cricketer himself, pushed her to take up the sport.
She first played for the senior state team in 2018. Later, she was dropped for two straight years. She made a comeback in 2020 and smashed two back-to-back centuries. She termed it as a âlife-changingâ phase in her career.
As captain of the Karnataka womenâs team, Vrinda played a crucial role in her teamâs journey to the Senior Womenâs Trophy final in 2023. Vrinda scored 477 runs in 11 innings at an impressive average of 47.7.
She came into the limelight when she was picked up by UP Warriorz for a whopping 1.3 crore INR at the Womenâs Premier League (WPL) auction 2024.
Vrinda eventually became the second-highest uncapped Indian player at the WPL auction.
