Akif Javed is a left-arm medium-fast bowler known for his pace, accuracy, and ability to swing the ball. He plays as a specialist bowler and has been a consistent performer in Pakistan’s domestic circuit since making his debut in 2019. A right-hand batter, he has also contributed with the bat on occasion, showcasing his all-round potential.
Javed has played for several teams across different formats, including Balochistan in domestic cricket and Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has also featured in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Fortune Barishal and Rangpur Riders. His ability to bowl in both powerplay and death overs has made him a key player in T20 leagues.
In February 2025, the upcoming pace sensation received his maiden Pakistan call-up in the Tri-Series against South Africa and New Zealand, replacing an injured Haris Rauf.
Meanwhile, after Team Pakistan's terrible run in the Champions Trophy 2025, Javed was named in the ODI squad for the tour of New Zealand.
As he continues to perform in domestic and franchise leagues, Akif is emerging as a promising fast bowler. With further development, he has the potential to break into the international circuit and represent Pakistan at the highest level.
