In the bustling heart of Pakistan’s cricketing landscape, where talent often emerges from the unlikeliest corners, Sahibzada Farhan’s story is a powerful blend of raw promise and relentless polish. Born on March 6, 1996, in the town of Charsadda, nestled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Farhan carved his cricketing identity not in the limelight but in the grind of age-group cricket and dusty practice pitches that shaped his will and wrists alike. A right-handed top-order batter with a natural flair for stroke-making, Farhan’s rise through the junior ranks of Pakistan cricket — from Under-14 to Under-19- was less about overnight stardom and more about outworking his competition, season after season.

Farhan's cricketing journey began in the local circuits of Charsadda, where his passion for the game was evident from a young age. His early exposure to competitive cricket came through participation in regional Under-14 and Under-16 tournaments, where he consistently showcased his batting prowess. His performances earned him selections in the Under-19 squads, marking his ascent in Pakistan's cricketing hierarchy.

Farhan made his first-class debut for Peshawar in the 2016–17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on October 1, 2016. Since then, he has been a prolific run-scorer in Pakistan's domestic cricket.

Farhan's T20 career is highlighted by a remarkable innings in the National T20 Cup, where he scored an unbeaten 162 off 72 balls, featuring 14 fours and 11 sixes, setting the record for the highest individual T20 score by a Pakistani batter. This innings not only broke Kamran Akmal's eight-year-old record but also placed Farhan among the joint third-highest individual scorers in T20 history, alongside Hamilton Masakadza and Hazratullah Zazai. 

His maverick knock soon got the attention of the Islamabad United management, who slotted the talented batter just ahead of the start of the PSL 2025. Farhan didn’t waste any time as he notched a century playing against Peshawar Zalmi at Rawalpindi. 

Farhan's contributions to domestic cricket have been recognised with accolades, including being named the PCB's Domestic Cricketer of the Year in 2021. His consistent performances across formats and ability to play impactful innings make him a valuable asset in Pakistan's cricketing landscape.

Farhan made his T20 International debut for Pakistan against Australia on July 8, 2018. 

In PSL 2023 with Karachi Kings, Farhan featured in the top order and delivered solid performances, with his most notable knock coming against Quetta Gladiators, where he scored a fluent 62 off 38 balls. His ability to rotate the strike and dominate spinners during the middle overs was crucial in helping Karachi chase down a tricky total with overs to spare. 

The following year, in PSL 2024 with Lahore Qalandars, Farhan played a key role in stabilising the top three, particularly in a must-win clash against Peshawar Zalmi, where he scored a composed 48 off 33 balls, laying the foundation for a successful chase. Though not the most explosive batter in the squad, his consistency in rotating strike and converting starts made him an invaluable asset. 

Apart from being a potent batter, Farhan occasionally contributes with his right-arm off-breaks. Though he isn’t a frontline bowler, his part-time spin has picked up handy wickets, especially in First-Class cricket, where he has 11 wickets to his name.

In essence, Farhan is not just a stroke-maker — he's a tempo-setter, a reliable scorer across formats, and a player whose domestic performances have often been the difference-maker for his teams.
