Notably, Sri Lanka have defeated Australia in a Test series twice. Their first series victory came in 1999. However, their most memorable success came in 2016 when Sri Lanka produced a stunning 3-0 whitewash in a three-match series at home. It was Sri Lanka's first-ever Test series whitewash against Australia.
