Fakhar Zaman produced a memorable innings in the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Tri-Series 2026 final on October 31, smashing 127 off just 99 deliveries.

His knock featured 11 fours and six sixes and kept Pakistan firmly in the chase of Sri Lanka's 326-run target. Although Dilshan Madushanka eventually dismissed him in the 34th over, Fakhar had already rewritten several records in Pakistan's ODI history with his 12th century.

1) Fakhar Zaman Becomes The Second-Fastest Pakistani To Reach 4,000 ODI Runs

Fakhar Zaman reached the 4,000-run milestone in just 96 innings, becoming the second-fastest Pakistani batter to achieve the feat in ODIs.

Only Babar Azam has reached the landmark quicker, taking 82 innings, while Mohammad Yousuf needed 110 innings to complete the same milestone.

Fastest to 4,000 ODI Runs for Pakistan (By Innings):

  • 82 – Babar Azam
  • 96 – Fakhar Zaman*
  • 110 – Mohammad Yousuf

Fakhar's latest century helped him move past the 4,000-run mark and further strengthen his position among Pakistan's most successful ODI batters.

2) Fakhar Zaman Equals Salman Butt For Most ODI Hundreds

Fakhar's century against Sri Lanka was also his fourth ODI hundred as an opener on home soil. With this, he has joined Salman Butt at the top of the list of Pakistani batters with the most centuries while opening in home ODIs.

Most ODI Hundreds as an Opener for Pakistan at Home:

  • 4 – Salman Butt
  • 4 – Fakhar Zaman*
  • 3 – Kamran Akmal
  • 3 – Saeed Anwar

Both batters have four hundreds to their names, while Kamran Akmal and Saeed Anwar follow them with three each. Fakhar's latest achievement highlights his consistency as an opening batter in front of the home crowd.

3) Fakhar Zaman Moves To 12 ODI Centuries For Pakistan

Fakhar has now scored 12 centuries in ODI cricket for Pakistan, moving further up the list of the country's most prolific century-makers.

Babar Azam and Saeed Anwar remain comfortably ahead with 20 hundreds each, while Mohammad Yousuf occupies the next position with 15.

Most ODI Centuries for Pakistan:

  • 20 – Babar Azam, Saeed Anwar
  • 15 – Mohammad Yousuf
  • 12 – Fakhar Zaman*
  • 11 – Mohammad Hafeez
  • 10 – Ijaz Ahmed, Inzamam-ul-Haq

Mohammad Hafeez has 11 ODI centuries, one fewer than Fakhar, while Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq have 10 apiece.

4) Fakhar Zaman Becomes The First Pakistani To Score Two Centuries In Multi-Team ODI Finals

Fakhar achieved another major milestone by becoming the first Pakistani batter to score two centuries in ODI finals involving three or more teams. His previous hundred in such a final came against India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final at The Oval, where he scored a match-winning 114.

His latest century against Sri Lanka has added another entry to that record. The two knocks have come in major tournament finals, with Fakhar delivering when Pakistan needed a significant contribution on the biggest occasions.

5) Fakhar Zaman Becomes Only The Second Pakistani With Two ODI Final Centuries

Fakhar's 127-run innings was also his second century in an ODI final, making him only the second Pakistani batter to achieve the milestone. The left-hander has now registered 12 ODI hundreds overall, with two of them coming in final matches.

His first such effort against India in the 2017 Champions Trophy final remains one of the defining innings of his international career. Nearly a decade later, Fakhar has once again delivered a century in a final, this time against Sri Lanka in Lahore.

6) Fakhar Zaman Register Pakistan's Second-Highest Third-Wicket Stand Against Sri Lanka At Home

Fakhar also played a major role in a 149-run third-wicket partnership with Saad Baig. The stand came after Pakistan lost Maaz Sadaqat and Babar Azam early in the chase, giving the hosts a much-needed platform to fight back.

Their partnership is now the second-highest third-wicket stand for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in home ODIs.

Highest Third-Wicket Partnerships for Pakistan vs Sri Lanka at Home in ODIs:

  • 200* – Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik, Karachi, 2004
  • 149 – Fakhar Zaman and Saad Baig, Lahore, 2026*
  • 122 – Aamer Sohail and Ijaz Ahmed, Lahore, 1997

The record still belongs to Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik, who added an unbeaten 200 in Karachi in 2004. Fakhar and Saad have moved ahead of Aamer Sohail and Ijaz Ahmed's 122-run partnership from Lahore in 1997.

7) Fakhar Zaman Moves Closer To Saeed Anwar's Record

Fakhar's latest century also took his tally of 50-plus scores as an ODI opener for Pakistan to 31. He is now just one behind Aamer Sohail, who occupies second place with 32 such scores, while Saeed Anwar leads the list with 57.

Most 50-Plus Scores as an Opener for Pakistan in ODIs:

  • 57 – Saeed Anwar
  • 32 – Aamer Sohail
  • 31 – Fakhar Zaman*
  • 29 – Imam-ul-Haq, Ramiz Raja

Fakhar has moved clear of Imam-ul-Haq and Ramiz Raja, who have 29 each. His latest knock further underlines his importance to Pakistan's top order, particularly in high-pressure matches.

Fakhar Zaman Finishes The Tri-Series With 158 Runs

Fakhar's century in the final provided a strong finish to what had otherwise been a difficult Tri-Series campaign. Before the final, he had managed just 31 runs across four innings, with scores of 16, 0, 10 and 5 against Sri Lanka and England.

However, his 127 off 99 balls in the final took his tournament tally to 158 runs in five innings. He finished with an average of 31.60 and an impressive strike rate of 105.33.
